You caught me once, Amanda. This time... you lost me. Click

°°°👫Chapter 7👫°°°

× 27 YEARS EARLIER ×

"Guys, wait up! You know I have short legs!" Amanda Rollins screamed as her and three friends all ran to the bus stop before the school bus made it there before them. Today was the first day of 3rd grade for the fantastic four, and were all super excited after having the most boring summer.

Ella, Jenna, and Jessica all turned around to find a small and shorter Amanda start to catch up to them. The main thing that Amanda hates about the group, is that they're all growing..except her. She's literally the same size as last year, but with her mom's support and the first start on drinking PediaSure. She'll be up to her height soon enough. Besides her hating her size, her friends adored it.

"Ha, we know, just getting you ready for track. You're still joining right?" Jessica said who's basically the most athletic one of the group. Every since hearing about the elementary being able to join track and field, she's been begging me to come with her for tryouts next week. Especially since I'm not like Ella, who is on a cheerleading squad and is great at gymnastics. Or like Jenna, who loves art, acts in drama club, and has the highest reading level in her class. Literally opposite of her sister Jessica. And me...I mostly like to be...me. The only talent I had was being tough so everyone said, but instead of being tough I always had a feeling I would save the world someday and help people. Well, who knows...

BEEP BEEP

I was dragged out of my thoughts, as the school bus pulled up to the curb.

"Let's go, guys. Today is going to be awesome." Exclaimed Ella, as the door opened and appeared Mr. Huddle, who was smiling already even though it was 7am in the morning. He was the only bus driver that was so joyful everyday. Which always helped me bot be nervous for the school day, and know everything is going to be okay.

After the girls said their hellos and went to find a seat, I gave Mr. Huddle a hug. Missing him this whole summer. "Hey Mandy, hows my girl feeling about school?"

"Nervous." I said as i pulled back.

"Well, don't worry you have friends to help you out with that. I have candy for you, if you need it. Ha, and don't forget to share with you're friends okay?"

"Uuggghhh, yes sir." Smirking as I walked away, traveling to my friends. Good thing we were the first one's he would pick up on his route, because the other kids would screaming and crying for candy also. Which they would get at the end of the day. As I walked to the back chewing on my favorite cherry bubblegum sucker, I handed everyone there candy and hopped in the seat with Ella. We continued to joke with each other as the bus started fill up with kids. I knew the day would be just fine, as we continued to chat with all the other kids that we knew so well.

Lewis's POV

"Come on William...school is actually fun. It's gonna be awkward at first, but it doesn't hurt chatting a little. You're a really fun kid." Cheryl continued to chat as we walked towards the school campus after parking the car.

"I don't think I should make any friends, we're just going to leave again anyway." I looked at the playground through the fence, it was way bigger than the other school I went too in Missouri. "Why didnt dad come with us?"

*sigh* "He had to go get some work done, sweet heart."she stopped making eye contact as she looked forward up thesidewalk. "But, He promised to pick you up after school though."
