A brown haired boy with breath-taking blue eyes jogs up to me. “Hey are you okay?” I nod.

He laughs, “Well that was a good block.” I literally melt at the sound of his laughter, but I manage to say thanks. He points at my shirt, “You play?”

I smile, “I do. I’ve been playing for a while.”

He points towards the other guys, “Then you should come hang with us.”

I hesitate, “Errr…maybe next time, I’m trying to get to know this place.” I swear for a second he looked disappointed.

“Well if so, may I suggest the best place to eat at?”

I smile, he literally read my mind. “Sure.”

“It’s called ‘Ocean View, make sure to get the calamari.”

I love calamari; it’s kind of freaky how it seems as if he knows me.  At the same time it’s mysterious and interesting. We both say goodbye and I skate to the direction of where he pointed the restaurant to be. Once I arrive I realize something…I never got his name.

~*~*~*~*~

By the time I’m back home curiosity consumes my mind. As I sit arranging my clothes in my closet I call Matilda back. “Hey sorry Tills, I almost got hit in the face with a soccer ball. Even if it did hit me, it would’ve been totally worth it.” I hear my best friend laugh.

“Have you lost your mind? Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, I’m fine.” Then I sigh, “Well sort of. You see mate, after I gave the people their ball back this breath taking eye candy comes up to me.”On the other side I hear her start fangirling, and then I continue. “We started talking and OMG his laugh… but the thing is… we never told each other our names.”

“Hold on, so you guys were technically flirting, but never mentioned your names?!?!”

I laugh, “I know, I know and now I can’t stop thinking about it.”

“Let me guess, he has brown hair and blue eyes.”

I start laughing, she knows me way too well. But I continue to give her the details, until she starts to cry.

“Matilda? What’s wrong?...” She keeps crying and I’m getting more worried by the second. Finally she hiccups and says, “He’s back and asking for you. He won’t leave me alone until I tell him. Kay I just don’t want you to get hurt anymore.” It takes a while for her words to sink in, but it hits me. Zachary…

~*~*~*~*~

You’re probably wondering who Zachary is. Let me tell you; he’s the biggest liar out there, short tempered and cold hearted. There was a time when we grew up together and he was my best friend. Then he moved and yet we still were best friends. Probably being separated for 6 months was when we both realized we had feelings for each other. Long distance relationships are built on trust. It’s not a one way street, both people have to commit. And one night it all fell apart. We constantly fought afterwards, but two months later I gave him a second chance. I had sleepless nights, for good and bad reasons. We had our fights more often, but I kept giving him chances. What he never knew was that every time he would cuss me out or insults me in fights, those words replay through my head. It’s a never-ending cycle. Though he claims he doesn’t mean it, he keeps saying more. And it gets more hurtful every time. I try to see his side of the fight, I try to understand, I really do. But there’s a point where you can’t take it anymore…Where it turns you suicidal.
