Revealing the ugliness

It is as if the very air is knocked out of me. In fact, I don't know what to do or say as my mouth hangs open. I want to scream.. I want to cry, and most of all, I want to deny it.
Why can't this be a nightmare I can wake up from?

"Cat got your tongue?" Terrevolt taunts. He's enjoying my shocked and hurt expression. Why did roman fail to mention this? Is this what he was hiding from me?
Or does anyone else know?
I refuse to make eye contact with ethlania or Benji who stands on each side of the door, resembling of robotic guards. These aren't the people I knew.. Or thought I knew.
"Are you going to speak?" Terrevolt looks at me, his white pearly teeth on display. He seems dangerous, yet calm, I know it won't take much to set him off Into a fury rage.

This is his eerily calm exposure waiting to crack.
I snap my gaze back to his face, which seems to grow closer to mine.
Immediately I yank back, my nostrils flaring in disgust. This man, regardless if he shares the same blood as roman, is far from being decent. This is why roman never mentioned him. And frankly, I don't blame him.
"Is this little kitten scared of her husband's papa, huh?" He teases, which causes me to scrunch my eyebrows confused. How come Benji didn't tell them that I wasn't roman's actual wife? Does ethlania even know?
"You'll have to speak up, if you want your buddy to live." Terrevolt sighs carelessly ,causing my attention to snap back to him.

"Shadow?" I manage to murmur. Where is he?
"Is that what you call that little bastard?" terrevolt chuckles as he shakes his head. He continues to speak, not giving me time to reply.
"He worked for me long time ago. When roman was actually sensible. But look how things turned out! Roman and him thought they could get away with after what they've done.." He trails off, his fingernails clenching on the arm rest, making an unpleasant screeching noise.
"Who would want to work for you?" I hiss venomously , watching as terrevolts eyes darken, resembling how Roman's would when he gets enraged. Terrevolt lurches forward, yanking me by my hair and throwing me to the ground. I'm helpless, tied to a chair, I can't stop as I collide with the cold hard ground.
My face is smashed against the white tiled floor, adding to the pain I feel in my entire body. I grit my teeth as I hear terrevolts mocking laugh, this will certainly haunt my dreams.
"You'll learn real quick not to p*ss around with me." He sweetly spits out as I'm yanked back up in a sitting position by the back of my chair.
I fight back the tears as I advert my stare to Benji who shows no guilt. I then look at ethlania who's stare is adverted to the ground. That is a sign that she indeed did feel guilty. Serves her right.

"Now. Unless you want your sweet little family dead, I suggest you do a favor for me." As the words leave his mouth, I let out a gasp.
My family? He knows where they are?? Oh god.
Tears begin to pour out, I no longer care of keeping my feelings in tact.
"You're lying!" I cry out , trying to wiggle free from the restraints so I can choke him.
"Oh, am I?" His eyes are hard as he yanks something out of his pocket, shoving it in my face.
My eyes squint and recognize a photograph of my mom, dad and sister at our favorite Icecream shop. "Issa's."
I bite down on the rope that is tied around my mouth, wishing badly to tear into terrevolt.  He can try to kill me, but if you mess with my family, I swear he won't get away. I hope..
"I have your whole focus, do I?" Terrevolt seems to be enjoying my rage and panic. He paces back and forth on the white tiled floor.
Roman told me terrevolt was a sick despicable man who was involved with sex trafficking, but I had no clue it was his father. No wonder he didn't even mention him once.
But it still doesn't make sense as to why benji would betray his brother for a dead beat dad who's involved in these sick crimes. Making me realize, I have no clue who benji is, he's just a dangerous stranger to me as terrevolt is.

"I need you to volunteer yourself into the firebox match tomorrow, and you have to make sure, you are the person on that platform and win. If you don't win, your family will surely pay.
When and if , you go onto the stage to receive the grand trophy, you stab ashton dead." Terrevolt spits the last words out, his eyes glowing with excitement and yearning. My heart seems to drop to my stomach, why me? Why not ethlania who obviously betrayed them? Why me???
