(Jason's pov)
Its been a week, a week after moving in, a week of skipping work, a week of just lying in my bed contemplating what is wrong with me. Every single relationship I have been in ended with them cheating on me. I rolled over and grabbed my phone as it began to vibrate. Seeing that it was Tyler I hit the fuck you button and began a text to him. I wasn't in the mood to actually talk, but he deserved to know I wasn't just ignoring him.
Hey bud, just not feeling up to talking im wallowing in self pity at the moment. Do you need me?
No man just checking on u.
You should get outside it will make you feel better plus the crazy lady said if you dont she will drag u outside and force you to cheer up.
I bet she would...alright Im gonna get up.
Tyler didn't respond, so I knew he understood my need for space. After laying down for another half hour I heaved a sigh and got up. I didn't know if Mon would be able to tell if i left the house, but that was also a risk I wasn't gonna take. Grabbing a towel I headed to the bathroom to clean up, maybe after a hot shower I would feel better. After getting clean and eating breakfast, I decided to clean up a little . Taking out the trash, doing dishes, and laundry. It didn't take long considering I was the only one who lived here. Sitting down on my couch I looked around, flopping back I sighed, maybe I should get a dog. The house just seem too big too, big for one person that is. Groaning I got up and wandered around. Time seems to pass too slow when I was by myself. Shaking my head I decided that I really needed to get my head on straight and forget about the latest betrayal. Looking at the time I realized about two hours have passed since Tyler texted me and I really didn't want to test if Mon was serious or not so I decided to go to the park.
For some reason I just kept getting drawn back to this park I thought, as I walked along the path granted this time I didn't have a sandwich for Bruce to steal, speaking of Bruce I wonder how he was. Bringing back it's been about a week since I gave that nurse my phone number hopefully Bruce hasn't mauled down anybody else with a sandwich. With a small smile on my face I thought about Reese it was always funny to see him try and drag Bruce away. Bruce was a huge dog and then there was little Reese who based off of my own height probably stood around 5'10. He didn't look too thin but he didn't look overly muscular more like lean like a swimmer, with strawberry blondish hair, and dark brown eyes. Laughing to myself I thought that he kind of reminded me of a chocolate candy, I know, I would call and Reese's Pieces.
Finding a large tree I sat under it and wondered to myself why I decided to give Reese a nickname, we weren't even really friends yet. In fact I've only spoke to him twice when his dog tackled me, maybe I just really need some friends, besides Tyler and Mon. After contemplating my place in life I decided that I was a very boring person with very little friends and I needed to get a life. Enjoying the sun I just laid my head back and took a nap against the tree.Feeling a weight lean on me my eyes flew open to take in a wall of brown, puzzled I blinked until I realized the brown was fur and Bruce was laying on top of my lap. Looking around I didn't see Reese, so I grabbed Bruce's leash and wrapped it around my wrist. I had left my phone at home, so I couldn't just call him. I decided to sit still and wait for him to find us.
Reaching down I started to run my hand through Bruce's soft fur."We can't keep meeting like this buddy." I murmured to him, "I know I seem lonely but you keep giving your daddy heart attacks. If you keep it up he will stop bringing you to the park. Maybe we can be friends Bruce."
Bruce sat up and leaned his weight against my side. Leaning back against him I double checked that his leash was secured on my wrist and closed my eyes, falling asleep again this time with Bruce keeping me warm.
