Chapter 4

Isa's POV

I sat out the night in my cave near Blackrock. Monsters, like everything else, couldn't see me but I sat in the cave because I felt like it. I kind of just sat there on the stone floor thinking about random things until a knock on the side of the entrance snapped me out of my reverie. "Hey Isa. How's it going?" Ridge asked. I got up and shrugged. "Well. Duncan's built a nuke under Blackrock and Zoey left Rythian because of some science lab thing." I replied casually. "He WHAT??!! Duncan's built another nuke?!" Ridge exclaimed angrily. I nodded then frowned. "Another? He's already built one before?" I asked. Ridge sat on the stone floor and I sat in front of him. "Well, not so long ago, in a different place, Duncan, Sjin, Rythian, Zoey, and a few others were neighbours. Everything was fine, Zoey built her mushroom village, Duncan worked in his lab, Sjin built mansions and such, and Rythian traveled the path of alchemy. Then Duncan and Sjin started a little prank war. The pranks got worse until it was a full scale war. Nobody knows who started it. But Duncan blew up Sjin's mansion and Sjin blew up Duncan's nuclear reactor. This resulted in their peaceful little region being destroyed and now they're here. And nobody knows what really happened except for Duncan and Sjin, and they each blame the other. Rythian blamed both and wanted revenge. Zoey just wanted to rebuild her mushrooms. Nobody else really cared that their old home was exploded. Hopefully history won't repeat." Ridge explained. I nodded thoughtfully. "You're right, this won't end well." I finally said as I got up and walked to the cave entrance. "Where are you going?" Ridge asked running up to me. "To go talk to Martyn." I replied. The demigod frowned. "But he can't see or hear you." he protested. I smiled. "But the trees can."
