Just Before Goodbye

I don't know if I like this one much but it popped onto my head after thinking about how everyone in my town always complains about how bad it is, how boring it is but yet we never leave and when we do we always return. Vote, Comment and share!

I live in a town where everything's the same,

nothing ever happens here,

and nothing will ever change,

The sun rises in the east,

and sets slowly in the west,

without blowing up a breeze,

and only working up a sweat,

everyone's the same,

talking gossip all the while,

trying to get by,

faking every smile,

sometimes it occurs that we all want to leave,

we all complain about the drama,

but I'd say that we're naive,

because just before goodbye,

we remember all the times,

we've left the town for an hour,

forgotten about our lives,

we remember the empty feeling,

leaving seemed to bring,

and so just before goodbye,

we open our doors again,

draw our curtains in our bedrooms,

and breath in the warm air,

this town will never change,

until we leave it dry and bare.
