"Let's be alone together, we could stay young forever - scream it from the top of your lungs, lungs, lungs. . . ." -Fall Out Boy, Alone Together

4 years later. . . .
Here we are again, with Patrick running late and Pete patiently, but anxiously, waiting. Except this time he wasn't at a restaurant, he was at the the apartment they have recently started to share together, sprawled out onto the couch, trying to pay attention to this show on Netflix that he randomly found called, "The End Of The F*cking World" - I mean, it was pretty interesting but he couldn't really pay attention to it anyways so he jumped up and turned the TV off, and headed to the kitchen.
"Ginger Ale or Coke?" Pete debated and settled on Coke in the end with a pack of hot Doritos that weren't really hot he just really enjoyed the taste of them. Sitting back on the couch, feeling like the biggest person in the world eating an entire new, unopened bag by itself and chugging down a large bottle.
Something to mention actually, Pete doesn't actually know what's going to be happening in a few minutes. He doesn't know that what Patrick will have on his closed palm of the hand is a sterling silver ring showing their commitment for forever. He doesn't know that the excuse, "Hey I'll be back soon with groceries." Was a lie. Patrick simply had to go to the store to pick up the ring and make sure everything was perfect with it, including the box that it came in.
This was going to be the best day for them.
'click'
The door swung open rapidly, startling Pete alone the way and Patrick came in with no grocery bags like he'd said he would, which only made Pete questioned why he lied.
"Uh, I thought you went grocery shopping." Pete brushed the chips dust off of his hands and stared at him.
"I did." Patrick replied and Pete furrowed his eyebrows, "Uhm, right. And where are they?"
"In here." Patrick pulled out the box and kneeled in front of Pete making him widened his eyes and choke on the leftover chip that was lodged at the back of his throat.
"Wait, Patrick...what're you-Patrick-" Pete felt his heart pounding so hard against his chest and with so many emotions going through him all at once it was hard to even focuse on anything else.
"Pete Wentz," He jokingly coughed and muttered to the side saying, "Soon to be Stump-" Making Pete laugh, "Will you marry me?" Pete nodded rapidly and excitedly.
"Yes, yes yes yes." He smiled brightly and Patrick slipped the ring on Pete's finger, kissing him affectionately afterwards.
"I Love you. . ." Pete stammered happily, and Patrick kissed him again to let him know he did too just as much as he did.
