‷ CHAPTER SIX ‴
THE GREEN MAN◇─◇──◇────◇────◇────◇─◇
I sat in Archie's living room with his laptop on my lap — trying to find a match with the pattern that was on the bodies. "Found something yet?" He asked as he looked up from one of the many books. "Not yet."
"Hey what were you doing with those cans?" I asked as I nodded my head in the direction of the stacks of red spray paint lying in the corner. He cleared his throat. "Uh, I kind of.. sprayed the Red Circle logo all over Riverdale." I chuckled. "Red Circle? What's that?" "A group I started so we could intimidate the killer. But don't worry about it, they quit." I frowned. "I thought you hated the Serpents." He shrugged. "Well now that Jughead is a Serpent, I have to accept them. But not all gangs here in Riverdale are a threat." "You do you but be careful that you don't make yourself a target."
The bell rang. "I'll get it." Archie stated before opening the door. Veronica and a bunch of Bulldogs entered the house. "Hey V." "Hi.. Jimmy." She looked surprised at my presence. I love her, but she can get jealous over the tiniest things sometimes. She and Archie were talking about something that seemed serious but I couldn't hear about what because of the laughter of the Bulldogs. Reggie seated himself next to me. "Hey J, wha-" I quickly cut him off. "Don't talk to me." "What are you doing here?" Archie asked them.
"We realized that the Red Circle is a unity. I was an asshole and a coward earlier," I fake coughed and said something under my breath. "Everyday." He heard it and gave me a glare. "I'm sorry, Andrews." Archie smiled and nodded. "It's alright. Nobody can stop the Red Circle!"
We heard loud motor noises coming from outside. We all looked at each other in curiosity. "Do you have more thirsty Bulldogs coming?" I asked Veronica. She shook her head. "I'm gonna check it out." Archie walked protectively behind her.
Just when the Sweet Pea was about to ring the bell, it opened, revealing Veronica and Archie in the doorway. "How stupid are you Northsiders? You think you can come in my neighborhood, wave a gun in my face in front of my boys and there wouldn't be any payback?" Reggie and the Bulldogs appeared next to Archie. Yet, he didn't care. He was out for blood. "Hell of a timing, bro. Bulldogs eat Serpents for lunch." Sweet Pea chuckled. "We'll see about that. The more, the merrier." Reggie stepped forward but was pushed back by Archie. "Chill. Veronica, stay here with Jimmy."
Sweet Pea's head immediately turned back to Archie when he heard him say her name. He wanted to ask how she was doing and if he could see her precious face.. but he bit his tongue. No one could come in between his goal. And that goal tonight, was to make them pay. "What, Archie no!" He turned his body to face her. "It's for your own safety Veronica. I don't want you to get hurt." She slowly nodded. He turned back to the blood hungry Serpents. "If you want to fight, let's fight." "What about your gun?" Sweet Pea challenged. "What about your knife?" "What about no weapons? If you troglodytes insist on doing this, there are gonna be rules." Veronica stepped in. "Or should I call Sheriff Keller to be referee?"
Archie and the Bulldogs disappeared out of the doorway, leaving Veronica and me alone. "What was happening out there?" "Oh, nothing." I raised my eyebrows. "Yeah, and my name is Miranda. What happened?!" She seated herself next to me. "When Arch was spraying the Red Circle logo in the Southside, some Serpents saw him and he had a little altercation with them.. a gun was involved." "What? Who had the gun?" "Archie." I frowned and chuckled. "Archie? A gun?!" She nodded. "The Serpents aren't the type to let it go, so they're fighting it out." I quickly stood up realizing that Sweet Pea was among them. "This has to stop V!" I ran out the door, towards the fight. The rain soaked my clothes in a matter of seconds, but I didn't care because I was looking for one certain person.
I quickly found him standing over Archie's body. He brought his leg backwards and slammed it into his stomach, making me wince. "Sweet Pea!" I yelled. But he failed to hear me because of all the yelling and groans. Suddenly, a gunshot was heard making me, the Bulldogs and all the Serpents freeze. I turned my body and faced Veronica who was holding a gun directed towards the air.
When I turned around to talk to Sweet Pea, all the Serpents were fleeing. "Help!" A helpless Dilton yelled. He was holding his leg with a pocket knife stabbed into it with a painful expression on his face. I quickly ran over to him and put his arm around my shoulder, supporting him.

"Is he going to be okay?" I asked the nurse. She nodded. "He did lost a lot of blood but he just has to rest then everything will be okay." I nodded and thanked her. "Who stabbed Dilton?" Archie asked Reggie. "I don't know. I didn't see it. Only he can tell who it was." I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I sighed and pulled it out. I looked at my caller ID. Sweets. I declined his call, not being in the mood to talk to him. He knew that I didn't like it when he was like this. Always being violent and beating up people. I don't like it. Yet, he ignored my wishes and beat up Archie. Honestly, I really don't care that he and his gang beat up the Bulldogs because I really don't like them.. but stabbing someone? Beating up my best friend? That's a step too far for me.
"I'm going to get some food who wants some?" I asked. They all raised up their hand. After I wrote down their orders, I walked to Pop's. "Hey Jimmy, the regular?" "Today is your lucky day Pop's. I have to buy food for the football team." I said as I passed the list to him.
I sat at booth while I waited on my order. My phone beeped, informing me that someone texted me.
(23:27) Message from unknown: I'm watching you. Stay away from the Serpents or you'll suffer the nasty consequences, Princess.

I frowned at my screen. I trailed off and looked outside. I could see a figure standing in the darkness. I moved closer to the window and squinted my eyes. He stepped forward, revealing himself. He was wearing a green long cape and a black mask covering his whole face. He waved his shiny knife at me. It glistered in the moonlight. He moved the knife to his throat, mimicking how he would slit my throat. I don't know if it's the killer that has been killing gang members or not.. but he has a knife and I don't play with violence.
I looked around to see if anyone had seen what I just saw. Everyone in the diner were talking and laughing, not noticing what just happened. I twisted my neck to look out the window again. The only thing I saw was darkness looming over Riverdale.
