It was dance class the next day at school. We were about to start rehersing. The girl who was playing Princess Two was absent so I got to do her part. The teacher clearly thought I'd do a better job with the princess than her replacement. While we were practicing I'd fall back into thinking what happened last night with Jemma and Luna.
Yes, I was happy maybe I wasn't the only person who felt the way I did, but... Jemma was being activity abused about it at home for being a guy. That's not okay. If Jemma wanted to be a guy why couldn't she? I mean it's her body and it's how she feels so if you're abusive to her... It could ruin a lot of things for her.
While rehearsing, even though my mind was wandering, I was doing really well. I could tell the dance teacher was having second thoughts about recasting. Which gave me hope. Maybe... Maybe I'd finally get that part and be accepted for who I am. Who I was. She's the only one who knew I wasn't a girl other than my sister. I'd do anything for my sister to not rat me out for once.
I saw Xena was getting tired out. She looked dizzy and sick. The dance teacher took her to the office. I'd talk to her about it later. We all just kinda stop.and started talking to people. "Hey! Valentina! Come here!" Julia says acrossed the room. I walked over. "Do you know what's wrong with Xena?" I shook my head. "I didn't know anything was wrong until now...."
Everyone wouldn't pay attention for the rest of class so we ended up just sitting down and watching some ballet on the projector.... Which nobody payed attention to either.
During lunch that day Xena didn't show up. I asked Luna. "Do you know what's up with Xena? She passed out during dance class today." Luna shook her head. "I don't know."
Jemma was looking down at the floor, biting into her sandwich. I felt so bad for her. I didn't want her to know I over heard her conversation last night so I decided to ask her... In private. "Hey Jemma, can you come with me for a minute?" I asked. She nodded and stood up. I walked with her to the corner of the lunchroom. "Is everything okay? You aren't talking and your looking down at the floor. You haven't talked to Luna all day." I said.
Jemma just looked up at me and then back down. "Honestly it's fine Valentina. Today is just an off day. I'll feel better tomorrow." Then she walked back. I sighed and walked back with her. We sat down at the table again when the announcements came on... Or we thought they were the announcements...
