Zayden sat down with us, in between Xena and I. "S-so I've met Valentina... What are your names?" He says. He sounded really shy.
"Well, this is Xena," I say motioning to her. Xena gave a smile and a fake sassy hair flip, "And here is Jemma." I said. Jemma blushes slightly and waves. Putting her hair behind her ear.
Zayden smiles softly. "Good to know. I'm Zayden," he says. He took out a lunchbox. "You bring your lunch too?" Xena says, pulling out her own lunch box. Hers had cats on it while Zayden's was just black. "Y-yeah I do. I make it at home because I don't like cafeteria food." He smiles.
Then, a familiar girl walked over, her long red hair curled and green eyes sparked with hatred. This girl was Julia. "Oh, are you sure you want to sit with... Him." She asked Zayden, giving me "the eye." Zayden looked at Julia. "What do you mean him?" Zayden asked. "There are only three girls."
Julia laughs. "Oh, child, Val here, or should I say, William here isn't a girl."
Zayden looked at Julia. "Well, so what? What gives you the right to pick on someone because they're different from you?" Zayden asked, standing up. He was taller than her by two inches ish. Julia looked at him. "Because! He's an abomination." She says.
Zayden moved his hair out of his face, revealing a huge birthmark surrounding his left eye. He glared at her. "If you say that SHE is an abomination because SHE is unique, sweet, nice and has done nothing wrong, I believe, you, the child is the abomination."
Julia looks at him, her green eyes wide. "How could you stand up for someone like that?! He's mentally ill." She says, looking at me disgusted.
Zayden shook his head. "No. It's not mentally ill to be who you are and express it. And if she WAS mentally I'll, would you put her down and laugh at her and make her feel horrible? No. Because that would make you look like the bad person. But guess what? You. Still. Are. The. Bad. Person." He said, clapping after every word.
Julia rolled her eyes. "Whatever." She said and walked off, going to sit with her friends. I looked at Zayden, my eyes wide and tears of joy brimming my eyelids just waiting to fall down my cheeks.
Zayden turned around to look at me with a smile. "Are you okay, Valentina?" he smiles. I nodded and hugged him, tears going down my face softly.
Xena and Jemma were left speechless as Abraham and Quincy walked in. "Hey, what happened while we were gone?" Quincy asked.

It was the last class of the day and I was sitting down at my desk. Then, Zayden walked in. He sat beside me in the back of the classroom. "Hey, Val." He smiles. I smile back. "Hey, Zayden!"
Zayden looks at me. "So if you aren't busy I was wondering if you'd like to go to the park next weekends." I nodded quickly. "Sure! Better than staying home with Matil-" I was cut off by that sickly sweet voice of the spawn of Satan himself, Matilda. "Heeeyyyyyy William how are you and your new friend doing?/Are are you coming out as gay too?"
The class filled with snickers and I put my head in my arms. Zayden pats my back and rubbed circles on my shoulder. "At least she's not an asshole and has basic human consent and empathy other than any other kid at this hellhole known as a school!" He said. The teacher wasn't in the room so he didn't get in trouble. Basic chatter continued but nobody talked about me. Zayden picked my head out of my arms. "So, that's a yes to the park next Saturday?"
