Ooh today is the day!! Today is the day I get to see the cast list! I'm so happy! It's been three whole hours of boring classes, but now it's time! What part did I get in the show?!
I walk into dance today ready to see the cast list. Walking into tgat room, I was very nervous. I look at the cast paper... to see that I'm Princess 2!!! I take a quick glance to Xena and squeal. I'm so happy! However, then the teacher calls me in the hallway.
"Valentina... We need to talk... About your gender." My eyes widen. "I'm a female. Is it hard to believe?" My dance teacher nods. "Valentina our school has a very strict policy. We simply can't let you be a Princess in the show if you are a male. Therefore, you shall be the butler. And the man who was cast at the butler will be stage crew."
"BUT THERE WON'T BE TWELVE PRINCESSES!" I say, shocked. "Yes, there will. I shall play Princess 2."
My eyes watered. "I practiced so hard for that part and I was perfect for it! Now you're telling me that I can't be the princess because I'm a boy?! This is ridiculously stupid."
She sighs. I look at her and ask, "How did you find out?" She looks me in the eyes. "Matilda told me before classes. She said that she simply couldn't let the school code be violated by her brother."
I grit my teeth. "For one. I'm her SISTER. FOR THE LAST TIME IM NOT A BOY."
I walk out of the building. I may get suspended, I may not. What's the point? I'm an all A student who's a great dancer. What am I supposed to do?
That night when I went home I walked into Matilda's room. "You told her I'm a boy?" Matilda nodded. "Just because your my sibling doesn't give you a pass to cut rules."
That little-
I storm out. I'm so done with life.
