I was sitting there with Jemma, Luna, Quincy and Abraham when the announcements came on. "Wait... Didn't we already have announcements?" Quincy asked. I nodded. "Yeah... We did...." Everyone stood up for the pledge of allegiance when the voice from the announcements said. "Sit down this is no announcement." We all sat down. The voice was my sister.
"Now, we feel like it needs to be said that there is some body who goes here that does not belong! They are a boy hiding under a girl's body." I started shrinking under my desk. She wouldn't dare call me out right here. Mom and dad would kill her and she'd ruin my life. She knows better than that.
She cleared her throat. "Her name is William! Or, I'm sorry. Valentina." Everyone's eyes went on me. Anyone.eho knew me looked at me and I guess everyone else followed. Her voice giggles on the announcements. "He's been lying to you all since he came here. How does that feel? Ask yourselves! Matilda out!"
Everyone was still staring at my trembling body under the table. Just then, Xena walked into the lunchroom. She went straight to our table and pulled me out. "Walk with me." She says and walks right out of the cafeteria with her arms around my face. I was crying a river. We sat down on a bench outside. "Hey. Hey look at me. If that announcement is true I'm hot going to abandon you. If that's who you are I still love you. You've been by my side since you transferred here. There is no reason for me to leave you. Your sister is a jerk. How could she do that?"
I looked up at her, then put my head in her chest and cried. "I don't wanna go here anymore." She rubbed my long brown hair. "Valentina. There is no reason to be sad. You still have me and Luna and Quincy and Jemma and Abraham. Plus you have Julia." I smiled a bit. "You guys still won't judge me? Even though I'm a guy?"
She shook her head. "You are not a boy, Valentina. You are a girl. A very beautiful, talented, caring and sweet, girl." I smiled widely. And cried more. "Xena your so amazing. Thank you so much for everything!"
She nodded. "Now I'll go grab them and we'll finish lunch outside for you, okay?" I nodded. "Thanks again Xena." Xena laughs. "No reason to thank me. It's called being human."
Those sweet, kind words played in my head. "You are not a boy Valentina. You are a girl."
I am a girl. I am a girl.

Awww I found this part heartwarming. This is proof Xena will be the best character I've made in a book since Nymph. Let's be honest here we all saw Matilda telling the school she was a guy but did we see it coming like that? Comment any suggestions you have!
