'Prom?' a sign up on the school gate said. Oh yes, time for senior prom. It's one year later. Duke and Rose are still going strong, and he was asking her to prom. Im okay.

Emily actually asked me. She said she's always had feelings for me ever since that thing with me and her a year ago. I said yes, figuring I have nothing to loose. I was a senior now, almost an adult.

I'm okay.

The sign is followed by a familiar scream and an all too familiar couple hugging. Rose and Duke. He didnt go all out asking her, he told me that the real surprise was at prom. I bet in my head that they were going to have sex.

I'm okay.

Rose and I were planning on shopping together for dresses this coming Saturday. Prom was next week on Thursday, and the following day we didnt have school, most likely to recover from the hangover we would all endure.

When I finally got up Saturday morning, Rose was already ay my house, waiting for me. She went on and on about how she was so excited, and how she had absolutely no idea what she would get. We shop for hours, her trying on loads of dresses in all colors, eventually leading with her getting a blue sleeveless dress and me a simple black one.

Time skip to prom

The doorbell rings, and I open it to see Emily, Duke, and Rose.

"You look so great!" Duke says, flashing me his award winning smile. the others nod in agreement and we set off to prom. The gym is covered in blue decorations, with teens and couples dancing together to the sound of slow music. Me and Emily make our way to a table as Duke and Rose go to dance. They dance together, and with the lights and decorations, with everything in the right place at the right time, they look perfect.

Duke clears his throat and steps back for a moment, saying something quietly. He looks to me with uncertainty...then gets down on one knee.

"Will you marry me?"

So this is what he meant.

I'm okay.
