Again. What was up with him? I sat on the edge of my bed letting my thoughts ride through my mind. Suddenly, I remembered Daniel was picking me up soon. I quickly changed into some of the new clothes Opal bought with me. I put on a cute crop top with a pair of sweatpants. I didn't care about my appearance that much. I went into the bathroom to fix my hair from it being under a hood all day. I applied some mascara and went downstairs.
"Hey dad, hey Corbyn." I said plopping down on the couch beside Corbyn.
"Hey honey, where are you going?" My dad asks as he looked at me, maybe noticing that I tried harder to look decent.
"Jonah's room." I heard Corbyn snicker.
"Oh hush," I said to him whacking him with an umbrella.
"Don't deny it," He said laughing even harder.
"No, I'm really not going there, I'm going to hang out with Daniel." I said trying hard to stop the blush from making its way to my cheeks.
"Who's Daniel?" My dad interrogated me.
"One of my friends, he just asked if we could hang out tonight." I said with a shrug as if it were no big deal.
"So are you and Jonah done?" Corbyn asked getting a bit more serious.
"What do you mean done? We were never even a thing." I said laughing at how oblivious he was to everything. He just shrugged and turned back to the T.V. Great, my family thinks Jonah and I are together.
I watched more T.V with dad and Corbyn until I got a text from Daniel.
Daniel: I'm outside
Me: coming
"Bye dad bye Corbyn! I'll see you guys later!" I yelled as I ran out of my house, beyond excited to hang out with Daniel.
"Hey," He said smiling down at me. Every boy in California was stupid tall. And hot. Jonah was almost a whole foot taller than I was. And so was Daniel. Daniel had the prettiest blue eyes ever. I could get lost in them. Jonah had sweet brown eyes that warmed up every time he smiled at me.
"Hey," I finally answered. "So what are we going to do?" I said standing in front of him. Suddenly he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me in close to him.
"Surprise." He whispered in my ear. I blushed at our proximity. I felt him smile against my cheek and then he pulled away. "Let's go." He said motioning for me to get into the car.
"So, where are we going?" I asked as he started the engine.
"Would it be any fun if I told you?" He replied with a boyish grin playing on his face. I shook my head no. "Exactly." I guess he was right. We sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes until he broke it. "Have you ever had a boyfriend?" I almost choked on air because the question caught me by surprise.
"No." I spoke quietly.
"Your joking right?" He asked with a hint of humor in his voice.
"No." I answered confused as to why he found it funny. He smoothly moved his hand from the wheel and intertwined it with mine.
