Four days passed since I got that phone call. Only God knows what will happen today. I woke early and dressed nicely. Instead of going to breakfast, Faith and I left to find my mum. It's not like I know what to do. How am I suppose to know what she looks like? All I have is a first name that she said. I'm not even sure if she knows what I look like. All these questions flooded my head. Do I have to leave Alex? Am I going back to Essex? What will happen?

Faith and I sat patiently outside a nearby coffee shop. I sipped my tea as I scanned the area in hopes to see an older woman headed our way. An hour passed and still nothing. I looked over my shoulder as I heard the clicking of heels on the brick pavement. A short black haired female smiled at me as she walked inside the coffee shop. I took a deep breath as I looked at Faith who was drinking her coffee.

"I have this strange feeling I know that girl," I started. Faith looked up with a confused look. "That might be her, but she looks too young." I continued. The lady came back out with a cup of hot tea. In fact, the same one I ordered. She walked over to our table and smiled with tears in her eyes.

"Now don't be shy, Jackson. Come give your mother a hug," She said. I hesitated before standing. My chest felt like it sunk deeper into my body. I slowly wrapped my arms around her, giving her a soft hug. I pulled back and took a seat. "My goodness. You are tall and you look just like your father..." She said softly. I looked back at Faith as to figure out what to say. I took a deep breath before speaking.

"Thanks. I have so many questions. Um...Let's start with this. Mum...this is my girlfriend Faith." I said hesitantly. My mum smiled.

"I see. Faith, you are much more beautiful in person. I think he has chosen someone good," She said. Faith smiled back and nodded.

"Okay. I need to figure out why you left me and why you are coming back now," I said softly looking back at my mum. She wiped her eyes before speaking.

"I was young. In fact I was 17. Your father had cancer at the time and was terminal. He was only 19 when he died. I knew I couldn't take care of you on my own so I gave you up. They said I would be able to see you when you were in High School and could make a decision to come home, but when I went they told me that you got adopted. It's alright though. I see you are very happy with your life. I just hope that I can become a part of it somehow," She said. Silence fell over us.

"Jackson..." Faith said softly. She placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah. I'm good. I'm just thinking," I turned to my mum. "Can I have some time to think about it? I mean, it is a lot I have to sort out." I said. My mum nodded. She gave me a hug before standing.

"Of course. You have my number, and I return back to Essex in month. Just let me know soon. I love you," She said. She kissed my head before walking off. I stayed still for a moment before standing and turning to Faith.

"Come on. It's time to leave," I said firmly. Faith stood silently. She walked to me and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"Don't worry about it right now okay? Take your time. You are still staying with me for a while," Faith said. I nodded in reply. We gathered out things and headed home.

Later that night I stayed up. I couldn't sleep. I mean, how could I? There was so much I had to figure out. I sat in my room, the lights off. It was just me and my thoughts. All I need is a clear head.

Time passed until I got a knock on the door. I got up and opened the door. It was too dark, but I heard Jace speak.

"Grab your jacket.....We are going to the hospital...." He said. What could've happened? Why does he sound so sad?
