If you would ask anyone in college who Jeevika Chaudhary was, people would say, "Oh you mean, Viren's best friend?" And why you ask. Because Viren Singh Vadhera was the most popular guy in the college. But, he was different from the usual stereotype. Never been a player, nor was he arrogant. In fact this was guy was famous for not his looks but more for his kindness, smartness and  his helpful and down to earth nature.

Jeevika Chaudhary was the girl of every guy's dreams. This girl was like a female version of Viren. She was Viren's what he himself claimed as closest friend, his Yaar. Both of them had been each other's not only best friends but also first friend they ever made. Their parents had been newly weds when they moved into the new city and thus both couples shared quite a connection with each other. It only grew stronger when both couples announced the good news with only few months in between. Due to the bond their parents shared it was only natural that their children would follow their footsteps and have a connection of their own.

But this connection between was threatened by a secret. This secret that led to a misunderstanding which could not be cleared for the sake of a promise. And thus we come to current scene, the consequence of that misunderstanding.

"Jeevika, why did you do this to me? You knew I loved her. You knew didn't you? Yet, you..."

Viren's moist eyes made her heart ache to the level that she couldn't fathom. His sadness had always affected her. But before she could even try to explain Viren left the room slamming the door of his, now their bedroom.

"That girl loves you. You can't see it now. But she's like a snake that's going to wind up around your body and poison your mind bits by bits. We're your family, yet she didn't inform you about what happened. She knew everything right from the beginning yet she didn't tell you. Believe me she won't let this marriage happen at any cost."

"No. I believe in her. She would rather die than betray me. Do you really think I would believe you, an old hag that just saw me as an heir and came for me when in need over my best friend who has been with me through thick and thin? Hell no."

Viren could very well recall how rude he had been when his grandma had talked about Jeevika. He couldn't tolerate anyone badmouthing her whatever it might be about. That's how it had always been. After all she was someone who would always understand him when no other could. But now, he wasn't so sure anymore. It's not like he didn't blame himself. After all how blind he must be to be oblivious to her so obvious feelings. So no, he was at blame to an extent as well. But he never expected that she would act on her feelings when she knew he loved someone else, specially when that love was reciprocated.

Hi guys! This is gonna be a very short story, like a multishot. Hope you guys like it.

I have always wanted to explore Virika's relationship as best friends. So I have had this idea in my mind for a while. As for updating, I will update it every alternate day and finish it soon.
