Viren drove his car in anger. He just drove without any direction in mind. But his heart already knew where to go. He laughed bitterly when he saw where he came. The garden behind their college. He had a very vivid memory here. It was what led him to believe in her and yet now when he looked at it, he only felt betrayal. He couldn't believe how stupid he had been then.

Viren and Jeevika not only went to same school, but also college as it had all three faculties of arts, science and commerce. So while their career paths were different, they could still meet even in college. And today was the same.

Jeevika looked at Viren who had laid his head in her lap.

"Viren, I think you should tell about Sana to your parents. It's not like they will oppose your relationship."

Sana had been his girlfriend for two years now. And Jeevika had supported him wholeheartedly. Viren himself was satisfied with the situation since Sana was extremely accepting of his friendship with Jeevika. But he couldn't understand why Jeevika had been nagging him recently. She never talked about this in the past. Only recently she had begun to brung up his secret relationship. He couldn't fathom why.

"Oho Jeevi, tum phirse chalu ho gayi. (jeevi you started again) You know na Sana is not comfortable with meeting mom dad yet. And if I tell them now, they would surely want to meet her. Then how would I handle it?"

"Viren, you seem to forget that you are already hiding it from your parents for 2 years now. And if you say that she is not comfortable yet, they won't oppose. If you want I will accompany you but this is your personal matter so I won't interfere."

Viren got up in anger,

"Oh if you know this is my personal matter you shouldn't interfere at all."

"Viren I just want you to think, how will your parents feel if they learned about it from someone else?"

"Look Jeevika I get it. You don't need to remind me. I am already feeling guilty as it is. Don't rub salt on my wounds if you can't apply ointment."

He left in anger. Of course this fight wasn't enough to break their friendship but this matter itself took a worse turn.

Jeevika remembered how it all started. Her parents had told her already of what had happened on Viren's 5th birthday party. Of course she didn't remember nor did Viren since they were too young. In fact Viren shared quite a good relationship with his grandparents. He didn't know that his father and mother had left their home in anger and not merely shifted to get privacy like he assumed. Being mature girl, she knew her parents were asking her to stay by his side as even his parents couldn't say anything about his grandparents. Considering Viren's then relationship with his grandparents they thought it was fine as long as they didn't interfere with his life. But they didn't know, things were going to change like never before. And one more seed of thought took root.

"Adi, I think Jeevika could be more than a best friend to Viren in few years. What do you think?"

"Hmm...We can surely see it in few years. Besides we have to wait and see...who knows he himself might choose her."

They chuckled thinking about it.

In later years, Jeevika understood about that matter though no one told her about it. She knew her own parents too were thinking that she would marry Viren in the future. She could see those expectations in both sets of parents. But what could she do about it? She had promised Viren to keep mum about Sana. And that is why for Viren's sake she was trying to coax him into coming out open about his relationship with Sana.
