Jeevika could still remember how they became friends. Their parents had been neighbors for years and thus becoming friends was only a matter of time. The same happened with Viren and Jeevika too. Being neighbors they were bound to become friends sooner or later. It hadn't been until they turned 5 that their relationship took a turn. True emotions got involved.

She didn't know what he heard but it sure made him upset, and the occasion happened to be his birthday too. They didn't know that he had grandparents after all they never visited them. Viren's dad had an arranged marriage with the girl his parents chose and it was going on well too. But it had been five years to their marriage and yet there was no child on the way. So they suggested him to divorce his wife and get remarried. They had full confidence that their son would listen to them but contrary to their expectations he sided with his wife and left his home, starting his own business in years to come. And 3 years later they were blessed with a son. And now they finally visited their grandson on his 5th birthday. But who knew things would get better only for a period of time. Viren's grandparents had asked for forgiveness and considering the family relations, Viren's parents accepted although a bit reluctantly. But reconciling meant leaving his home and companion behind.

"Jee... I don't want to go. I want to play with you."

"Vivi.. don't worry. Let's talk to your parents."

They held hands together and went to explain their side.

Here, Viren's grandparents were trying to convince their son and daughter-in-law to come back but the couple was adamant on not leaving their new home. They knew if they went back, lot of things would change and Viren's life would be controlled by the old pair. They didn't want the history to repeat again. And this was exactly what Viren heard. He didn't understand everything but knew it meant separation from Jee.

Viren and Jeevika entered to still see the adults arguing.

"Maa, I don't wanna leave."

Seeing his tears only made the couple more firm on their decision.

"Why? Viren we are your grandparents. Don't you want to live with us? If you come with us, I will make you lots of cookies and tell you stories."

His grandmother asked. Now that the child himself had interfered, she could only use this opportunity to get things done their way.

"But Jee will be alone. If you come here, Jee can also have cookies and stories."

His response stunned everyone in the room, Jeevika's parents had also joined the party inside the room in search of their daughter. They looked at each other surprised at Viren's response.

But the old pair were quick to come up with a counterargument. They knew that one thing was a weakness that every kid shared.

"We'll give you lots of chocolates whichever you like. We even have five star."

This time it was Jeevika who shocked them.

"He doesn't like five star. He likes inly dairy milk. That too melted one."

"Jee knows the best."

Viren hugged her, happy that atleast one person knew what he actually likes.

That day, the old pair returned home with a broken ego. They couldn't believe that a 5 year od girl won against them. After all if not for her, everything would be in their control by now.

"That girl! I will destroy her. Let's see how she deals with it."

Seeing his wife throwing a fit, he tried to calm her down.

"Don't worry Nalini. We will hit her where it hurts the most. Let's see how she deals with that."

Together the old pair planned their actions.
