Waving through a window

When you got to school you were talking to your friend Zoe. "How was your summer Zo?" You asked her. "It was good!" she said  "How about yours...?" she asked you with a cringing look. "Well I spent it with the king of douchbags so.." you replied. Zoe was about to say something else, but you saw Connor push some kid in the hall. You stopped Connor when he passed you "What the fuck did you push him for?" You asked him angrily. "HE CALLED ME A FUCKING FREAK AND WAS FUCKING LAUGHING AT ME!" He yelled. "To be fair, you are a freak, but that doesn't give you the right to push him!" You said. "I'm gonna fucking KILL you!" He yelled at you. You walked away from him and yelled "Not today Satan!"

 You went up to the boy who he pushed "Hey, I'm sorry about my brother I saw him push you, he's a psychopath I'm sorry.." you said. You recognized the boy as Evan Hansen, the boy who waited outside all your jazz band concerts.

"Evan, right?" 

"Evan?"

"That's your name.." you said. "Yes! It's EVAN sorry..." he said. You laughed nervously "Why are you sorry?" You asked him. "Well, because you said Evan and then I said Evan, like I repeated it and it's just so annoying when people do that!" He rambled. You held out your hand "I'm Y/N!" You said cheerfully. "Yes, No. I know" he said wiping his hands on his pants. You laughed nervously again "You know?" You asked. "No, I mean I've seen you play guitar in jazz band, I love jazz band, I love jazz but not all jazz well definitely like jazz band jazz, that sounds so weird I'm sorry.." he said. "You apologize a lot" you said. "Heh heh, sorry.... well you know what I mean..." he said. You turned to leave " Well I'll see you" You said, but he said something else as you said that. "What?" You asked, "What did you say?!" He asked obviously regretting whatever he asked. "I didn't say anything, you said something.." you said, "who me? No way... José..." he said.  "Ummm, ok.. José" You said walking away.

You didn't talk to Evan the rest of the day. You didn't even look at him. Little do you know.... what the future holds for you...
