You silently sat in your captains office watching as he worked on paperwork. "Do you need any help captain?" You asked tilting your head. "No I'm alright. Thank you (Y/n)." He said giving you a small smile. You just nod your head at him before going back to your work.

You and Toshiro were very close friends. Of course you weren't as close as him and Momo but that's because you didn't know him for as long as she had. After a few more minutes the door was thrown open by an excited Rangiku. "(Y/n)!!!!!" She cheered happily as she went and hugged you.

"Guess what! I scored a double date in the land of the living!" She cheered. "Ah I see! Congratulations Rangiku!" You cheered knowing how much fun she had doing that sort of thing. Toshiro just sighed glaring at his lieutenant.

"Masumoto where do you think you're going without getting all of that work done?" He asked pointing to the stacks of paperwork that belonged to her. You watched as she started to sweat slightly. "Ahem...a-anyways it's your lucky day (Y/n)! Cause you're going with me!" She said.

"Huh?!" You asked surprised. Toshiro frowned at this. "Masumoto! You can't just tell (Y/n) this at the last minute!" He yelled standing up. "Hahaha! It's fine captain! Right (Y/n)?" She asked smiling at you. You didn't know what to say as you looked away from her.

"I-I guess..." You mumbled. "Great! I'll see you in three hours then! Bye!" She cheered before running off. The room was silent between the two of you.

"..."

"You don't even want to go do you?"

"Captain!!!!! I panicked help me!!!"

~time skip~

You stood in your captains office trying to decide on what outfit to wear. "What about this one?" You asked holding up a cute short dress. "No it's too short." Toshiro said bluntly. "You say that about all my dresses!" You yelled.

"How about you just wear this?" He asked holding up a pair of pants a long sleeved shirt and a hoodie. "Not helping!" You whined. "I've never been on a date before so I don't know what to do..." You admitted a small blush on your cheeks.

This caught Toshiro's attention. "Then don't go." He said bluntly. "CAPTAIN!" You yelled. Just then the door swung open revealing Rangiku dressed up showing cleavage as usual. "(Y/n) you're not even ready yet?!" She asked surprised.

"I'm having a hard time on what to wear and captain isn't helping!" You whined. Rangiku hummed looking over at Toshiro who crossed his arms. "She shouldn't even go. She's never been on a date before plus if it were up to me I wouldn't let her." He said calmly.

This caused Rangiku to smile as she went and placed her hands on your shoulders. "Awe come on captain! You're being overprotective! (Y/n) will have a blast! Plus I'm there so there's nothing to worry about!" She said laughing.

"THAT'S EXACTLY WHY I'M WORRIED!" He yelled. Rangiku just smiled as she went and picked out one of your dresses. "Come on wear this one!" She said pushing you into one of the rooms. You just sighed as you looked down at the dress. "Here goes..." You mumbled.

After getting dressed you stepped out getting their reactions. "Awe!!! You look so cute (Y/n)!!! Right captain?!?!" She asked. Toshiro stood there a small blush on his cheeks before looking away. "Tch. It's too short...what if she attracts too many guys?" He asked.

"Awe come on lighten up!" She said hitting his back causing him to scowl. "Anyways we're off now so take care captain!" She said grabbing your arm and dragging you out. "Hahaha! Captain sure is like an overprotective brother or dad isn't he?!?!" She laughed.

You didn't say anything as you looked back.

"Yeah...I guess he is."

~time skip~

You silently sat next to Rangiku as she happily flirted with her date. Meanwhile yours kept trying to start a conversation. "I-I'm sorry I've never been on one of these before so forgive me if I don't know what to say." You admitted giving him an apologetic smile.

He smiled at this a small blush on his cheeks. "Haha it's alright! Although I'm shocked a cutie like you hasn't had any dating experience." He said leaning closer. "I guess I've just always been really busy with my work is all." You said scratching your cheek.

"Haha I'm sure that boss of yours is a pain in the neck." He laughed. Meanwhile Toshiro sat a few seats away a giant ticked mark on his head. "Not at all! He's actually very considerate and works very hard." You said smiling at the thought of Toshiro.

The guy hummed seeming bored. "Ya know I could take you somewhere fun after this." He said smirking slightly. "Huh?" You asked. Just then you felt his foot trail up your leg causing you to stiffen slightly. "Yeah how about it? I could make your fantasies come to life." He said eyes narrowing slightly.

'W-what do I do? I can't ruin this date for Rangiku...' You thought panicking. "Come on cutie...let's get out of here." He said going to take your hand only to have a hand slam down on the table causing all of you to look up.

"C-captain?!" You asked shocked. "Uh oh~ it's the boss~" Rangiku sang drunk. "Of course you'd be drunk by now Masumoto." Toshiro grumbled. "(Y/n) you seem to be in discomfort. Is everything ok?" He asked looking down at you with those eyes of his.

You just blushed as you stared up at him. "I-I'm fine..." You whispered. He didn't say anything as he went and shot a glare at the guy across from you. "I'd like it if you were to remove your foot from my coworkers leg." He said coldly. "What the hell? You're these girls boss? You look like some little kid." The guy said.

'Uh oh...' You thought sweat dropping slightly. Toshiro stood there a ticked mark on his head. "I assure you that they work under me. Plus I'm positive I'm way older then you are in many ways." He said. This seemed to make the guy aggravated.

"Why you!" He yelled quickly standing up. "P-please don't fight!" You yelled quickly standing up taking Toshiro's arm. "I-I think it's best if I go home now..." You whispered looking down. Toshiro looked at you for a moment before sighing.

"I agree. I'll escort you home (Y/n)." He said calmly gently taking your hand. "Matsumoto I'll see you tomorrow." He grumbled. "Bye bye!!!" Rangiku waved laughing. The two of you didn't say anything as you left the area.

You both walked together in silence. A cold wind blew past you causing you to shiver. This of course didn't go unnoticed by Toshiro who stopped walking. "You're cold here." He said going and taking off his jacket. "N-no you don't have to do that captain!" You stuttered.

"It's fine. After all that Matsumoto picked such a revealing dress." He mumbled gently placing the jacket around you. You didn't say anything as you quietly pulled the jacket closer to you. "Captain...?" You whispered causing him to hum and look over at you.

"Were you...following me?" You asked looking at him. He blushed slightly scratching the back of his head. "I-I was just making sure you two wouldn't get in trouble is all. That Matsumoto you never know what she'll do." He stuttered.

You just looked at him for a moment before smiling a small smile. "I see." You laughed softly. "Hey....captain one more thing." You said a tiny blush appearing on your cheeks. "Hm?" He hummed looking at you confused.

You just smiled as you carefully went and kissed his cheek. "Thanks for being such an overprotective captain." You cheered softly. Toshiro stood there shocked before blushing heavily as he quickly went and cleared his throat.

"L-let's just head back! You'll catch a cold!" He yelled going and opening a door to the soul society. You just smiled at him going and taking his hand as the two of you walked back.

'Ya know...having an overprotective captain might not be too bad.'
