"Rachel, I seriously don't get the point of going if I'm just gonna stand by the punch bowl and the snack table the whole time. I'm not going to be a third-wheel on anybody's date," I complained.

Jo smirked, "Trust me, you'll get a date. Every other guy will wish they asked you."

"Your dress is all set!" Rachel said gleefully while fixing up a couple wrinkles on my dress.

I straightened everything out and looked into the mirror. It's a turquoise colored silky dress that's slightly tight-fitted from the waist above, but the skirt flows whenever I move around. My hair is left alone, my curls bouncing up and down as a twirl in my dress. This is probably the first time I actually dressed like a girl.

"Woah..." I looked at myself for a moment in the mirror. This was one of the first times I ever felt like I was beautiful.

Rachel squealed, "It's so gorgeous!"

"I swear, you look amazing. Go to prom, have fun and don't do drugs," Jo teased.

I rolled my eyes, "Thanks you guys." I hugged them both before heading out. Apparently Rachel helped set me up with someone, I'm a little scared on who she had in mind.

Suddenly a familiar looking car pulls into my driveway.

At least it's somebody I know, that's a start.

As he stepped out of the car, I noticed his short, dirty blonde hair. His tux was stunning! He approached me with a nervous grin on his face and a bouquet of roses in hand. My prom date is... DJ?

He cleared his throat, "Wow, you look amazing..."

"Thanks," I replied chuckling.

"So I was wondering... Would you like to go to prom with me?" he asked shyly, it was kind of cute.

I tapped on my chin for a moment, as if I was thinking things over.

"Yes DJ, I'd love to go to prom with you," I reached up and wrapped my arms around his neck.

I've got to admit that he's tall, but not as tall as Andy.

I've decided to stand near the punch bowl while DJ is out on the dance floor. He's asked a couple of times if I wanted to dance, but I declined. There hasn't been any slow songs yet, thank god, but I kind of feel bad for him. I bet he wanted to go with a perfect girl who's good at dancing and not screwing up everything , but he's stuck with me.

Rachel shouldn't have had DJ ask me to prom, out of all people. Even if he did like me, we're just friends.

DJ looks like he's having fun at least, while random people are actually approaching me for some reason and trying to get to know me. I guess not every person at my school is an ass.

I met a girl, Olivia, who talked to me a little bit about some guy she liked for some reason and said she wanted to be my friend. Weird.

Christina hasn't approached me once tonight, which is probably for the best. She's going out with some blonde guy, Jake, he seems nice. He's probably better than Tristan, that's for sure.

"Hey Alex, you wanna dance?" DJ stood in front of me with an open hand for me to grab.

I shrugged, "It's fine, I'm good."

"Hey, you don't have to be afraid to dance. I won't judge."

"I'm not, I just don't feel like it."

"You have to for at least three songs," he smirked.

"Ugh, THREE?"

"Yep! C'mon, it'll be fun," he answered while pulling me onto the dance floor.

We danced to 'Cupid Shuffle,' then 'Good Time,' by Owl City and now we wait for the next song to come on.

"Hey everybody, listen up," the school DJ said into the mic. "It's time for a slow dance. Everybody grab your date and let's make this night into something magical!"

Everybody cheered.

DJ and I looked at each other.

What was I supposed to say?

"Um," he began. "Would you care to have this dance with me?"

I chuckled, "My pleasure."

I was a little clumsy on my feet when we started dancing at first, until DJ helped me out.

This was kind of nice.

He picked me up by the waist and slowly spun around, then he lightly put me back down.

"Ok guys, who's ready to get funky?"

As always, everyone cheered.

"It's time for the... Cha-Cha Slide!"

Everyone cheered while some pumped their fists into the air, "WOO!"
