I walked into the Davenport home, dropping my bag on the chair by the door. I notice Tasha is on the phone, sat at the breakfast bar. I give her a wave, which she returns, as I sit myself down on the couch. I watch as Adam is bench pressing Leo, who's counting, as Chase and Bree are throwing a ball between each other.
"467, 468, Put some muscle in it, 469..."
Turning my attention over to Mr. Davenport, he's currently stood on one leg with a dish on his head as Tasha gives him a disturbed look.
"But not today. Because Donalds not feeling well... Look I gotta go, he just threw up in my purse. Love you, bye!" Quickly hanging up, she puts the phone down onto the counter.
"You know, we're gonna have to have your mother over eventually." Donald reasons with his wife.
"Yeah Tasha, if you're so worried just send her my way. You know Grandma Rose loves me, and how she loves trying to fix my mum up with a nice man. Now that you're married anyway." She smiles at my attempts to reassure her, turning back to Davenport.
"No, we don't. Look, my mom doesn't just visit. She has inspections. If she spots anything weird, she will use it as an excuse for her to move in." Tasha sasses, crossing her arms over her chest. She wasn't budging in this argument.
Bree zooms past and catches a ball just a second later, "Nothing weird going on here."
Tasha turns to Donald, distressed with a 'you see' look.
"Honey, when your mother visits I will shower her with love, I will make her feel welcome and will do everything humanly possible to...." The doorbell rings, interrupting Donalds' speech. I look over to Eddie's screen and see Grandma Roses' face super close to the camera.
"It's my mother!" Tasha gasps, looking at the screen in despair.
"I'll be in the lab," Donald scatters as quickly as possible, as Tasha starts to panic, asking the Daven kids to turn invisible. They all look at her like she's crazy.
"Oh, come on! You have every other freaky ability. Just, run, hide!"
Adam, Bree, and Chase run behind the kitchen island as Tasha moves in front of me and Leo, ready to greet her mother.
"Oh good, it's unlocked." Grandma Rose, already picking at things she's not happy with. The woman has very high standards for how people should live there lives. Even me.
"Mooom!" Tasha cheers, but you can hear the nerves in her voice. "You're here."
They give each other a hug as Grandma Rose puts her sunglasses in her bag, complaining about the front gate. Sounds like Donald's' gonna need a new fence. She then proceeds to move Tasha aside and smile at Leo and me.
"Leo, Sere, there are my babies. Come and give me some sugar." She glees, bring me and Leo into a tight hug. I can see Leo's face grimacing, but I'm more than happy to accept hugs from Rose. She's always been so accepting of me like I was her own. She pinches Leo's face, letting go of me as she talks in a baby voice. I can't help but chuckle a little at the sight as Leo grows tired of the affection.
"Who are they?" Rose asks as she spots the Daven kids trying to seek off to the basement. They all look a little startled and stand up straight, wondering what to do. My eyes catch Chase's before quickly turning away. We hadn't spoken since the dance, I only ever came over to see Leo and Bree. I hadn't notice till now that he cut his hair, making him look even cuter. I glanced up again, a sad smile on his face as he hung his head slightly.
We really need to talk.
I hadn't been listening up until that point when Tasha said Chase was Leo's nanny. What? Why would this be her cover story? Staff?
