We were walking the halls after a couple of classes, and I was sick to death of Spike. He wouldn't let me out of his sight, and if I had to use the bathroom, Bree had to come with me and wait outside the stall. Seriously, this protective attitude was getting old. He currently has his arm around my waist. I would love this if it was Chase, and if his hand wasn't trying to sneak down to my butt. I swear I've moved it 50 times already.
"Alright! Make room for the Alpha dogs! Woof, woof, woof, woof!" Leo chanted. Adam grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back. Leaning down he told him in a low voice, "Don't do that."
"Wait," Bree realized as we stopped. "If we're the Alpha dogs, then..."
She dropped her books on the floor again, two boys rushing over to pick them up as she gushed over the scene in front of her. I rolled my eyes fondly at her, as Spike eyes the boys. Making sure they returned everything. I guess it could be worse. Spike could have turned on us. A boy passing us hand Spike a piece of paper. He looked at it, confused. "What's this?"
"That's an all-access hall pass, you can go anywhere you want with that," Leo explained, eyeing the thing like it was the holy grail. "I can go anywhere I want already," He boasted, detaching from my waist to move across the room. Finally! "These, are my hall passes." He started flexing, kissing his biceps. I wanted to gag.
I step in front of him, putting that sight behind me and turned on the guys. "Okay, guys this has gone on long enough. We need to shut Spike off." I pleaded with them. Just as I spoke, I heard that sweet voice I've been waiting for behind me.
"Commando App, disengaged?" He asked confused.
"Chase, you're back!" I sigh, relieved. I threw my arms around his neck not caring. He put his arms around my waist automatically, taking me into a hug. When he stepped back, not letting go of the hold either, he turned to his siblings.
"Guys! Why was I in commando mode?!" He asked them sternly, panicking.
"We're you in commando mode?"
"I didn't see a commando mode."
"Oh, that's good. Everyone keep lying." Adam said throwing it off."Oh give it up!" I scolded them. Turning back to Chase, my face turning sad, "I'm so sorry Chase. I tried to stop it." He looked at me and then the others. Fully stepping away, he but his hand to his head moving his fringe a little. He was panicking and looking so disappointed.
"You guys were supposed to watch, out for me!" He exclaimed.
"Oh, we watched the whole thing. You manhandled the quarterback and pudding popped the defensive line." Leo told him. I smack Leo round the back off the head. "Not helping!"
"What?! Oh great. This is so gonna come back to haunt my supreme court nomination!" Chase complained, the veins in his neck straining for the stress.
"You know what Spike would say yo that? Nothing. He'd rip out your ribcage and play it like a xylophone." Bree snaked at her brother. "Yeah. I like him." Adam starts, "He's like a big fun monster in your sad little body."
"Stop it!" I yell at them, grabbing their attention. They all shrink a little bit, especially Leo as he's seen me mad before. "Guys this isn't fair, you guys are getting the high school experience you wanted. But your taking Chase's away from him. He doesn't want to be Spike."
"Oh, who cares. I'll get Spike back." Leo challenged, walking up to Chase. Oh, this I had to see. "Get lost, before I use you like a napkin!" He copied my brother, then tried to lift Chase. Keyword; tried. When he finally gave up he turned to Adam and Bree. "Yeah, this isn't gonna work." When he finally looked at me, he shrunk away again under my glare. I turn to Chase, my face softer and sorry.
