I opened my eyes to the noise of birds chirping, the sun poored into the cave that we had found after we had walked a little further down the road. I sat up and looked around, everyone was still sleeping. I stood up quietly and looked at the direction of the house. Maybe they are gone and I can get some stuff for them, it is my fault this happened... I thought, I opened my wings and went to jump off the edge when a hand grabbed my arm, I turned around to see Max looking at me. "Where are you going..?" She asked, I thought for a few seconds if I should answer her or fly off and get the stuff.
"I was going to get some supplies from the house.. I figured I should since it is my fault that they found you after all...." I whispered, my feet on the ground and my eyes staring at the ground, Max pulled me into a hug and I went stiff.
"Your life is more important then getting stuff, We can always get it again...It wasn't your fault Kat." She said to me, Fang shifted and turned onto his side. I looked at Max and she smiled at me and pointed twards the house.
"Let's go together." She said nicely, I nodded and we both flew up into the sky. I thought Max hated me... I thought to myself, I looked at her and she must have caught my glance because she gave me a smile, I smiled slightly, but it looked more like a grimance. I wasn't familiar with happiness. Her and I had been brought up differently, Max had escaped with Jeb, Along with Fang, Nudge, Gazzy, Iggy, and Angel, but I was forgoten in the shadows along with Ari. Ari and I had been raised together, but I just couldn't follow through with the 'evilness' as he would call it. I shuddered at the thought of what was happening to Ari right now.
"You alright?" She asked, I nodded my head and we flew in silence for the rest of the time till we got to the house.
"I'll go in, alright?" I told her, she nodded and hid behind the bushes, I crept in quietly and looked around. No erasers, no bombs, nothing, the place had been left like nothing happened. I opened the fridge and looked through it. Footsteps came up behind me and I stiffened as I landed on the floor with a thud, biting my tounge and tasting my blood in my mouth. I kept in a slight groan and looked up to see Ari.
"A-Ari?" I studdered, man did my tounge hurt.
"You did manage to find the flock, congratulations. Looks like they left without you, figured they came back here didn't you?" He asked me, chuckling. I shook myself hoping could loosen the rope around my arms and wings, it was pointless.
"Ari why are you doing this?!" I cried, tears filling my eyes. "I- I like seeing, I don't want to go back!" I screamed, why wasn't Max helping me!? Ari pinched my cheeks together like he use to when we were children and poured a liquid into my mouth, he kept my mouth closed and forced my head up, causing me to swallow it.
"I hate you, I hate you Ari. How could you, I don't want to go back!" I cried,
"You're time has come Kat, You need to go back."
My body froze and my eyes grew wide. "N-No! I- I can't I need my eyes! Ari don't. Why!? Leave me alone!" I cried, struggling even more. I closed my eyes as Ari came closer to me when he yelled in pain. Next thing I knew I was swooped up by Max and we were flying, She helped me unbind the rope.
"Nice distraction." She smiled at me, I said nothing and stared at the sky as I flew. When we arrived at the cave we were greeted by the flock.
"You alright?" Fang asked as he examined me. "You look kinda ill."
"I'm fine." I said, going to walk. Suddenly my body froze and the next thing I knew, darkness was clouding my mind.
