Part 3 - 'A' Names and Also...

Among Adored people I know, or have known, with names beginning with 'A' - some are living, others have passed on...

Having been called by my middle name for almost half my life — at age 29, I travelled with my husband and our young daughter, to the USA to attend a Bible Institute, having already started a church in New Zealand, we believed God wanted us to study before growing the church more. This 'young' church was in the hands of a wonderful pastor who had left his position in the USA to pastor the New Zealand church while we were away. All that to say, this was the time, with a new place to be for two years, to use my full name, Carolyn Ann, with the 'A' surname of Aish; to learn new things, meet new people, and most of all, to experience the Lord in a 'foreign country' (and with our accent, in this North America, we were, indeed, 'foreigners' - aliens - to many).

There was a lovely friend back in NZ, named Anne. We saw each other at church on Sundays and had coffee 'out' once or twice a week. She died suddenly as a young wife and mother and is missed very much.

Anita, in the US was an amazing friend, so kind and helpful, with her husband, Walt, while we lived in Lynchburg, Virginia.

The next mention, is my new granddaughter (in-law) - Alison, a name I've always Adored. It is also spelled as 'Allison' - she, like Alison, is a solid, spiritual character. Alison means: "noble and kind". Both Alison and Allison are this and much more, being Assured, Appreciated and Admired for their faith in Christ and God.

She, Allison, is Adventurous, Active, Attentive, brave, generous and kind. With four children of her own, she fosters 12 orphans and works with natural remedies to cure and heal those with illnesses and afflictions. In medieval times, this Allison, is shunned as a believer in God and as one who disagrees with the bizarre treatments and procedures the doctors of the day impose. She is a threat to them, and they treat her badly for it.

Some 'A's in the Scriptures —

Amos, the only book in the Bible beginning with A, was written by Amos who was a Shepherd.

Almighty, Awesome and Awe-inspiring, is my God - He is my 'Abba' Father – Daddy-Daddy – how I love Him, how I adore Him. He, God my Father, is Amazing, the One True and Living God who wants us to Abide in Him.

God will Accomplish in our lives All He Attains to Achieve.

God gives us Abilities to do Amazing things.

God is Able to do the impossible.

God's faithfulness comes Afresh to us every A.M.

In Christ, we are Accepted in the Arms of the Almighty God who loves us.

God, in Jesus, gives us Abundant life!

We have Access to the very Throne of the Almighty God.

As a child of God, I'm the Apple of His Eye.

God hedges us around with an army of angels and assures us of an arsenal of armaments against the advances of evil.

Let us live in Accord with one Another, living with Affectionate Actions, because God tells us that Actions speak louder than Any words. ("Be doers and not hearers only..." - we are on this earth, not just to Audit — but to Achieve.)

We should Acknowledge and Appreciate Affliction as the #Scripture says, "It is good for me that I have been Afflicted, that I may learn Your statues. Psalm 119:71

When I am Afraid - I will trust, with Assurance and believe with Acceptance.

I will pray —Asking, expecting Answers, and God will turn fear into faith – (agitation into assurance) because He not only takes our Anxieties when we give them to Him, but He Abolishes any and all Accountability when we confess our sins... He acquits from avengement and absolves us from all abomination... AGAIN - only after we confess our sin and are cleansed as in 1 John 1:9.

God Always Accompanies me, 'I am with you even until the end of the world'. (Jesus)

Jesus is the Anchor of my soul.

I will set my affections on things above, not on things of this earth.

When believer's die, they will be Absent from the body, present with the Lord in His Heavenly Abode.

Some names of our triune God not mentioned above: The Anointed One - Adonai - Our Advocate - The All Sufficient One - The Amen - The Ancient of Days - Apostle and High Priest - A very present help in trouble - All-sufficient - A sun and shield, - Alpha and Omega, - Avenger (1 Thessalonians 4:6) - Arm of the Lord (Isaiah 53:1)

The Ultimate Name of God - "I AM that I AM"

God is The Author — of many things — including, The Author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Author of Peace (1 Cor. 14:33). Author of Eternal Salvation (Hebrews 5:9)

Random thought: Colours that begin with 'A' are: Alizarin, Amaranth, Apricot, Asparagus, Amber and Aubyn. On the above cover picture are the colours, Amethyst, Aqua, Aquamarine and Azure.
