The Revanites

Tarutio's journal

Dromund Kass is much wierder than what I expected. A noblewoman's lover disguised as her brother and a father ordering his daughter's death. But I think the wierdest one was with the so-called "Revanites".

While I was gearing up to assault Lord Grathan's estate, I received a message from someone called "Sandor", telling me to meet him near the taxi station. The guy, a Human, was a Sith and he was waiting for me. When I asked him what he wanted, he said that he was waiting for one more person and that he'd talk only when we were all there.

The other guy he was waiting for was another Sith, another Human of about the same age as me, with cybernetic implants covering his scarred cheeks. A blue Twi'lek girl, perhaps a couple of years younger than him, was following him, with a couple of blasters attached to her belt. Since she wasn't wearing a slave collar, I assumed she was some kind of hired bodyguard.

After the two had arrived, Sandor told us why he had summoned us: his master, Darth Charnus, wanted us to infiltrate a group called "the Revanites", people defined as heretics because instead of following the Emperor followed a long dead Sith "tainted by Jedi ways". Our task was to infiltrate the cult, identify the leader and report it to him. Deimhos said "yes", even if reluctantly. I said "get lost", but Sandor said I was turning away a good chance for profit. Hadn't Mako convinced me, I would have refused this lunacy. Seriously, I wanted no part in the "Sith vs. Sith" struggles, especially in matters as "who I worship".

Fortunately, the cult's compound wasn't far from Grathan's estate and the other Sith had to invade that estate too. On our way through the jungle we didn't talk much, but he kept looking at me in an odd way. I guess the guy had never seen many Zabraks in his life.

Once at the compound, a guard met us and told us to leave. Deimhos showed him a token Sandor had given us and he changed his tone. He welcomed us into the Order of Revan, and introduced us to its ways.

The one they worshiped was a former Jedi that had been turned to the dark side, but was then betrayed and returned to the Jedi. I remembered some of this from the days on Corusant. Dad told us stories about a Jedi that had become Sith and then returned to the Jedi after a memory wipe. At least I knew it wasn't a foolish myth.

Anyways, the guard said that to meet the Master, the four of us had to complete the initiation into the Order. He pointed us to some people who could give us our trials. We completed them smoothly, proving to be a better team than I wanted to admit, and, along the way, we managed to do our missions into Grathan's estate, and I managed to capture my target alive.

The final trial, however, was the one that scarred me most: the trial of Death. A man named Jhorval approached us and told us that we needed to complete this trial in order to finish our initiation: we had to follow a path, enter a cave "dedicated to Darth Revan" and then death would have freed us from our past and remade us.

Deimhos' eyes blinked of a light I didn't like and so, before we said "yes", I asked to talk a moment in private with him.

Once alone I asked: "Are you crazy, Sith? We're going to our deaths and we know it! We can't do it.", but he replied with: "It is the only way to complete the initiation. And I wouldn't turn down the chance to be freed from the past. I've done things I'd rather forget. But, hey. If you're too scared to complete your contract, merc, you can always run away. I'll tell Sandor not to pay you.".

I was furious at his stupidity, but the point about being freed from the past...I admit I also wanted to forget the scars I had been carrying since Corusant. So, in the end, I accepted, at Mako's disapproval.

With forces combined, Deimhos and I managed to reach the cave.

In its depths, we found a shrine. But once he and I approached it, flames surrounded the shrine. And from them, a masked man, dressed in dark robes, came out: Revan.

He disappeared almost immediately and then lightings stroke at us. I don't know what happened to the others, but I lost my senses and felt my life fade away. I don't know what happened after that, but I awoke at the medical tent of the compound, with Mako, Deimhos and his bodyguard, who said her name was Vette, lying at my side. None of them remembered how we got out of the cave.

After the event in the cave, I felt the world different. Like I could sense some kind of energy emanating from all living things. I asked Deimhos if he felt strange but he replied not to. When I told him about what I sensed, he said it was the Force. Somehow, what happened in that cave had made me Force-sensitive. I was speechless, and Mako even more so, but Deimhos said that what happened in the cave had probably awakened a latency I had been carrying since birth. I was afraid Deimhos might decide to force me to join the Sith. Instead, he said he wouldn't and that the farther I was from Korriban the better.

Anyway, we told Jhorval we completed our trial. He was pleased but also curious about how we felt the world now. Mako and the twi'lek said they felt the same, but both Deimhos and I said we sensed it simply...different. Not sure how "different" he felt it.

After that, we returned to the guard that greeted us earlier and he told us we were ready to meet the Master. And we did, only that he revealed to be a woman.

This lady told us that how she started all of this after her hard trials on Korriban, but then she explained her crazy idea: that for three centuries, Revan had replaced the Sith Emperor and, after the war, had been betrayed and captured by the Dark Counci, stating it was why he had disappeared.

She concluded by telling us she knew we had been working with Sandor, and that she had a plan to eliminate him: giving him a medalion that once belonged to his master, Charnus, and therefore make the two turn against each other.

On our way back to the Citadel, we talked more than we had done during our departure, discussing what we would tell Sandor. Mako and Vette didn't really care, but Deimhos wanted to let the Revanites continue their activities. The fact that they had awakened something Force-releated in me had boosted my opinion of them, so we agreed to give Sandor the medalion.

Now I'm back to the Mandalorian enclave and we're preparing for our final bounty. I hope we won't have to handle a "secondary" objective like this again.
