Tarutio and Mako stopped a moment in Vaiken's cantina while they waited for the departure of the shuttle to Dromund Kaas. While they were there, Mako started a conversation with: "About the whole "Great Hunt" thing...thanks. It'd mean a lot to Braden that you stuck with it."

Tarutio replied to her with: "Finishing this was the least I could do for him."

Mako continued with: "Thanks. Already said that, didn't I? The Great Hunt was Braden's dream, talked about it for years. The day he told me about you... Should have seen him. Grinning and laughing so much I thought his face would split in half."

"What exactly did he tell you about me?"

"Not so much, only that he found you during a trip of his and that you were who we were looking for. And that you had a conscience, which I saw by myself. Why?"

"Nothing just asking."

When the shuttle for Dromund finally arrived, they got on board and took their seats. During the travel, Tarutio asked Mako: "Forgive me if you don't want to talk about it, but...how is it that Braden picked you?"

"Well, I was an orphane on the streets but I was good slicer, so Braden found me and offered me a way off Nar Shaddaa, which I took immediately."

Tarutio thought: "He certainly liked taking kids from the streets." but his thoughts were interrupted by Mako's question: "But how is it that you ended up here? Not to sound racistic but, in the Outer Rim there are usually only red-skinned Zabraks, unless they are somehow affiliated with the Republic. Are you a guy from the Core Worlds looking for an adventure or something?"

Tarutio took a moment and then answered: "From the Core Worlds, yes. Looking for an adventure, not exactly. I lived on Corusant. In the lower levels. After the Empire bombed the planet, I lost my parents, my friends and my home. Local gangs joined up together and took control of the lower levels. I stole some equipment from them and started a guerrilla. It didn't work out in the end and they put a bounty on my head. I survived because Braden found me, faked my death and took me off-world."

Mako commented with: "I'm sorry about your parents. I can't immagine how you must have felt. And your life after that must have been awful." and Tarutio replied: "It was. But I doubt it was worse than Nar Shaddaa."

"I suppose not. But I doubt losing your parents is better than never meeting them."

"That is true, I guess."

They didn't talk much more untill the shuttle reached Dromund Kaas. Once at the check-in, Mako commented: "Ugh. Spaceports all smell the same. Engines exhaust, coolant fluid and spacers who haven't bathed in a week. Let's get out of this stink. Whatever the rest of Dromund Kaas is, the air's gotta be freshier than in here."

Tarutio replied: "It still smells better than Hutta."

"That's like saying a girl's slimmer than a Hutt."

While they were moving outside, Mako added: "Keep in mind, Imperials aren't fond of aliens. Step out of line and they'll notice. If we tweak the local authorities, they could make life really hard."

Tarutio then replied: "If the Imps try to cross us, they're dead." and Mako said, with a sarcastic tone: "How did I know you were gonna say that?" and then they left the spaceport and headed to Kaas City.
