I woke up a bit later than I usually do, but I have to admit I slept pretty well last night. I sat up in bed and all that went through my mind was the events that occurred last night. Remembering rude guy's small speech gave me a warm feeling again. A smile formed on my lips as the bright sunlight came through the curtains. Deciding time was ticking away, I got off the bed and tip-toed over to the door. I slowly got out of the room and made my way to the bathroom. This time not caring too much about accidently waking up rude guy.
The house was strangely too quiet, and it seemed that there was no one else in it. Sighing, I realized that I had to stay here with rude guy alone. I went to the kitchen and there seemed to be a note addressed to me.
"Jung Hoseok (tell me how you would like me to address you 'cuz I don't know yet),
Everyone went to the store to buy food because it appears we didn't have anymore. I think I forgot to go shopping yesterday. Would you mind doing a couple of chores for me? Don't worry, you'll be rewarded with legendary food cooked by Chef LeJINdary himself.
All you need to do is take out the trash and wash the dishes. Taehyung and Yoongi didn't want to do their jobs. Maybe I should scold them when I get back, huh? Anyways, we'll be a while because the fridge is pretty much empty.
Take care and do as I say,
Jin"I couldn't help but chuckle at the cute message hyung had left behind. He really runs the household, doesn't he? I quickly did the chores and sat down on the couch to watch some TV. My stomach grumbled softly. Ugh, I'm so hungry right now. I got up and went to check the fridge, hoping there was something to eat. Sadly, there was only water and beer. Great.
I was a little too hungry to be comfortable, so I decided I should go to a store close by. I didn't know where one was because I had fallen asleep during my first car ride here. Hopefully, I would find one quickly. There was a spare key, so I took it after concluding that rude guy wouldn't wake up to knocking. I got out of the house and walked down the sidewalk towards the corner of the street. There seemed to be a convenience store right there.
I was about five yards away from the store when I noticed a small box on the sidewalk. It looked a little worn, and I couldn't help but gain interest in this object. I walked closer and discovered a small animal within. It was a little corgi whimpering softly. My heart immediately clutched in my chest and I bent down to pick it up. There was a notably large scar on its back, making me sigh. This poor thing must've gone through a lot. I took one last look at the box and noticed that it said "FREE PUPPIES". This corgi must have been the only one who wasn't taken in by a family. A few tears began to fill my eyes, but I quickly wiped them away. If no one else would take it in, then I would. I would take this puppy home.
I smiled at the puppy as I carried it softly in my arms. It was so small and light, and I knew it was probably starving. I guess I would have to go to the store to buy it food too.
I got home as quickly as I could and lay the puppy on my bed.
"Now, you wait here. I'm going to the store, okay?" I whispered softly to it.
Hopefully rude guy wouldn't wake up. I didn't know how he'd react to having a puppy in his room. I quietly shut the door after taking one last look at the precious little thing.
I ran as fast as I could to the convenience store, and gained nothing but confused stares upon my arrival. I smiled a bit awkwardly as I made my way to the pet food aisle. I chose a bag that was targeted towards puppies, and them went to get some instant ramen cups from the food aisle.
I slightly jogged towards the counter and paid for the items I was buying. Trying to get home was a challenge due to sudden rainfall.
"Ugh, not right now."
I made it to the house, drenched, but happy to have gotten there earlier than planned. I whistled as I squeezed my shirt and pants to get the water out. Once I was dry enough, I got into my shelter. I sighed and chuckled a bit. It had been a little crazy adventure of my own.
Before I went into rude guy's room, I got a towel from the bathroom and dryed my hair and body. I opened the door quietly and slightly gasped at the sight I had in front of me. The puppy was curled up next to rude guy's head. Haha, this was a little unbelievable. I shook the puppy lightly in hopes of waking it in order to feed it.
The puppy stretched and opened it eyes slowly before licking the sleeping person next to him. Uh-oh. This was not good. Loud sirens went off in my brain and I mentally prepared for whatever came next. Rude guy slowly opened his eyes with a confused look on his face. When he saw the puppy, his confusion turned into a smile. He chuckled softly before petting it, and I have to admit his laugh and gummy smile made me have a warm fuzzy feeling in my chest. I cleared my throat because it seemed he wasn't aware of my presence.
"Oh, I didn't know you were here," he said in a deep, raspy, and sleepy voice.
It made me blush a bit, but I managed to keep my cool.
"Y-yeah. Umm, everyone else went to the store to buy things, a-and I brought a puppy home," I said while awkwardly scratching my neck.
"Hmm. Okay, but have you fed it? It looks a little too skinny," he asked me while slowly sitting up and carrying the puppy in his arms.
I couldn't help but notice that he was shirtless and blushed slightly.
"No-o, not yet," I couldn't look him in the eyes and stared at the ground, "b-but I have food."
"Oh, that's great. It's about time this little thing got its food."
Rude guy looked at me and seemed to wait for me to move. I quickly did so and gave him the bag.
"Now, who's a good puppy? Hmm? You are. Yes, you are," rude guy said softly to the tiny corgi as he fed it.
My heart was a beating a little too fast for comfort as I watch rude guy smile tiredly at the puppy.
"I wish he would smile at me like that," I thought and mentally slapped myself.
Ugh, why do I keep thinking things like these? After the puppy had had its fill, it snuggled beside rude guy and fell back asleep.
"So, everyone is gone right now? They went to the store?" Rude guy whispered.
"Y-yeah, to get food," I said still a little taken aback by what I had thought earlier.
"Oh, well I guess we'll wait then," he made a slight pause before continuing, "Did you eat yet?"
I shook my head and he got up slowly.
"Let's eat then. What should we do with the puppy? Should we keep it? But I don't know what Jin hyung would say. Hmm..."
I nodded my head rapidly and he chuckled.
"I guess I'll do my best to convince him then," he smiled softly, "I wonder what we'll name this new member of the family. Got any ideas?"
I paused to think before I shook my head, disappointed in myself for not being able to come up with a name.
"Let's call her, umm, 'Chu Chu', because she likes to eat."
I smiled at his suggestion. He was starting to not seem so bad. I guess rude guy wasn't as rude as I seemed to call him, but it was a little too soon to say otherwise.
