The night that Steven had gone to Birch Tree, Steven was torn between stealing the ring from Lilly and leaving it there and disappointing Spencer and Sophie. While Steven was making a web, Lilly walked in looking really mad. "Steven," she said "Where have you been all day? I thought you were just saying goodbye to your mom and getting your web kit." Lilly said angrily but you could tell that she was trying to be calm. "Oh. Lilly I'm sorry. I forot to tell you that I was also saying goodbye to my friends Spencer and Sophie. I told them that I was going to live with a nice human girl who made a bed for me that was next to a ring. But-" Steven explained. "But what?" Lilly asked "But they said that they wanted me to steal the ring so that we could make some money. And I tryed to tell them that you didn't want me stealing the ring but they wouldn't listen. I'm sorry Lilly." "Steven! I already told you that you couldnt have my special ring. The answer is no!" Then Lilly didnt talk for the rest of the night.
Steven didnt like the quiteness that night. Usually the two would stay up all night talking. Steven knew Lilly wasn't sleeping. Lilly snored, Steven knew Lilly snored when she slept. If she was asleep she'd be snoring. Steven decided that since he had promised Spencer that ring Steven would steal it. So that night Steven put the Afghanistan ring on his back. Steven crawled down the side of the house and brought it to Birch Tree.
Spencer was waiting by the entrance. "There you are Steven. Me and Sophie have been waiting for an hour." "More like five minutes." Steven mumbled. "Here's the ring Spencer." Steven said giving Spencer the ring. "Whoa. Do you know what that drawing is on the top?" Spencer asked coriously. "I believe its a flag of some sort." Steven answered. Then suddenly Spencer started gnawing on the ring. "Whoa whoa whoa. Spencer what are you doing? I thought we going to make money with this. Not eat it." "Well I cahanged my mind." Steven pulled the ring half out of his mouth. Then he made Spencer choke up the other half.
Steven didn't know what to do. He decided to try to fix it for Lilly. His original plan was to give Lilly the money. Now he had to at least try to fix it. Or who knows what Lilly would do...
