this chapter should be a little longer as it's one of the iconic moments...

i knew why cheryl wanted us to stay. she was afraid. i knew that her call of help being suddenly silenced wasn't because she was suddenly feeling safe, but because she was feeling vulnerable. i could see right through her.

i walked out of the gym and back into the locker rooms, smiling proudly of my newly acquired role in the rivervixen. i was now apparently part of cheryl blossom's 'inner circle' also. i looked at myself in the mirror and ran my hand through my hair. how does cheryl do this so effortlessly? i was so busy trying to act like cheryl for a second that i didn't hear the door swing open.

i couldn't believe toni was coming over tonight. if i was truly being honest with myself, i didn't want the rest of the girls over, i would have honestly loved just toni, but i knew mother would never let her stay over if my life depended on it. i walked towards the door of the locker room and opened it slowly, hoping it was empty. at first, i thought it was, and then i saw a pink haired girl standing and looking at herself in the mirror. she didn't turn around or even flinch and i smiled. if i had hoped one person would be in here it would be toni. i don't think she had noticed i was here so i walked quietly over to the side and leaned against a wall, admiring her. she looked down and then into the mirror again, then our eyes made contact. she gasped.

"cheryl! how long have you been here for?" she stuttered, shutting her locker quickly.

"oh, just long enough to stare for a while. congrats on making the team by the way," i said.

"um, thank you for giving letting me join."

i walked over to my locker and turned around, ruffling my hair.

"of course, toni. you were actually pretty good," i admitted, "i'll see you tonight i guess."

as soon as i got through the door of my trailer, i ran into my room and grabbed a bag, shoving all my clothes inside. i then walked to my bathroom and took a hairbrush, toothbrush and toothpaste and some makeup. i walked back into my room to the buzz of my phone.

cheryl - did you want to come over a bit earlier tonight?

toni - i'd love to! btw i don't have a fancy dressing gown.

cheryl - borrow one of mine. i have at least 20 in my wardrobe, see you in half an hour?

toni - ;)

i grabbed my bag and called out to my grandpa.

"i'll be away tonight!"

no reply. he was probably sleeping. i went outside and got on my motorbike, ready to make my third appearance at cheryl's house this week.

i opened the door to toni's smiling eyes.

"hey cheryl,"

"urgh. why is she back again cheryl? we don't like peasants in this house, so please leave," mother said from behind me.

i felt so enraged at this comment. i simply grabbed toni's arm and pulled her upstairs with me back into my room. she walked in and followed me into my walk-in robe.

"so," i clapped my hands together, "which one?"

i pointed at line of silk dressing gowns hanging up.

"wow, cheryl."

"i know right?"

i took one off the hanger and put it against toni's body, suddenly blushing with how cute she looked. she noticed and smiled back.
