"Wait, don't go yet!" a little boy with tears streaming down from his green eyes called out. A girl with black hair turned around and ran toward the boy.

He held her in a bear hug as if though she wouldn't be safe outside of his arms. She took out a tissue and wiped the tears from his eyes. She let out a giggle, "You shouldn't cry, I'll start to cry if you do" she said.

"I...I got something for you. You know before you go" the boy said, turning his head to hide his blush. He handed her a present covered in green wrapping paper.

"Wait for me!" A boy with burgundy long hair came running toward the two. A little red-headed girl came running behind him, trying desperately to catch up, but she kept tripping over her dress.

"I brought a present for you too, a little something to remember me by" he said with a wide-toothed grin. He handed her a box covered in red wrapping paper.

"Open them now Hiro-kun" a small blonde boy walked up to them and said. The girl opened the green one first and took out a long, green ribbon. Then she opened the red one and took out a red headband.

"You should wear my ribbon, here let me help you put it on" the green-eyed boy said, he immediately went and tied the ribbon in her hair.

"No fair, she should wear my headband first, she looks much better in it any way" the long-haired boy said. The two boys kept bickering about what their friend should wear. The girl eventually started laughing at the scene in front of her.

"I'll just wear them both" she said. Without a moments hesitation she tied the ribbon around the headband and put it on. "See, now I'm wearing both."

"Wow, Hiro-kun is so smart, right Haru-chan" the small blonde stated. A black haired boy holding the girl's hand just let out a barely audible statement of agreement.

"Now calling flight 372 to San Francisco, California" the lady over the loudspeakers said. The little girl started to walk away.

"Don't forget about us Hiroki" the red-headed girl said, she was holding the long-haired boy's hand. How could she forget about her closest- no only friends. All the times they had at the swim club, playing tag by the pond. Makoto's annual family picnic, Haru always asked his mother to make mackerel to bring for them. Every year on someone's birthday Nagisa would push their head in the cake, and when it was Nagisa's birthday, everyone would bring a pie to throw at him. How could she forget them.

She couldn't hold back her tears any longer, she broke down crying. All her friends ran up to her and gave her one last hug goodbye.

"When you cry it makes me want to cry, that's what you said right" the green-eyed boy said as he petted her hair gently.

"Don't worry, you can always call us if you need us" the red-headed boy said, rubbing her back soothingly.

She finally let them go after what seemed like eternity, dried her tears, and ran back to her gate, or at least tried to. A certain blonde refused to let go of her leg, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"No, Hiro-kun don't leave" he cried.

"You can't leave me, who's going to sneak chocolate with me, who's going to make me feel better when my sisters pick on me. Don't leave me Hiro-kun" he wailed. The boys quickly came to pry the blonde off her leg. She hesitated a moment then continued to her gate. She told herself she wouldn't cry until she gets on the plane, she already broke that promise, so she might as well cry.

She looked back one more time, tears in her eyes, then walked into the plane. She shed her last couple of tears, and remembered all the games they played, the food they ate, the tricks they did. She faced forward again, closed her eyes, and the plane took off, leaving everything and everyone behind in Japan.
