There's a lot of things you doesn't know. You doesn't know that your hair looks like like an electrocuted monkey when you wake up. But still, there's a lot more than that. So I've decided to put some stuff you don't know in a list.
1) That I'm the one who hides you glasses in weird places.
It all started out on one summer's morning when Sirius, Peter, Remus and I were all awake and you, my fat lump of a husband, were still snoring in our bed. Sirius thought that it would be an oh so funny idea if I hid your glasses some where around the house and you had to find them when you woke up. So I hid them on top of a photo of you when he was six. Remember? I thought it would take you no time to find them. It took you 6 hours. So I carried on doing it 3 days every week. Hilarious, I know.
I guess this is the end of me doing that then.
2) That I wore your Quidditch hoodie many times instead of my pyjamas.
I remember that time you gave me your Quidditch hoodie back in 5th year when I was ill and in the Hospital Wing. I didn't know it was yours so I wore it that day when I went to bed and fell in love with the smell. It smelt like wood chips, grass (I normally despise grass, but this sort of scent was heavenly) and something kind of sweetish. I still don't blooming know what the smell of the sweet is but you still smells like it. I can literally hear the smug look on your face.
Is it normal to like the way your significant other smells?
3) That I liked you slightly in 5th year.
Don't laugh at me. I'll hex you. It was the same day when Severus called me a- well, you know what he called me, and I just wasn't in it anymore. Ran to the Prefects' bathroom and stayed there. It wasn't even 5 minutes before I heard someone run up to the door. It was the boy with horribly messy hair. You. I'm sure it would easier to tame a dragon than to tame your hair. You apologised and stayed, I didn't let you in because that would be ten times more awkward. We had a good chat and by the time I left, I didn't give a flying broomstick about Severus. You, though you don't say it, still blame yourself for everything.
I thank you for everything.
4) That I know there wasn't a year you didn't give up.
Blame Remus for this one. I expected that there was one year that you did give up and just decided ask me out to annoy me. So when you started doing it even more, I just wanted to kill you. No offence. Back in my old primary school, a lot of people disliked me. I don't know, I was as much as a nerd then as I was in Hogwarts. I was picked on and didn't know someone as popular as you would even look at me. But you did. And it was maddening! You probably feel so good knowing that your uncovering all these secrets but don't get too excited, this wouldn't be happening unless it was a special occasion.
This is a very special occasion.
5) That you're going to be a dad.
I assume that this isn't the most special or formal way to do this but screw formal. I don't exactly know how to react. It wasn't planned so I can entirely blame you if you aren't happy with it. So you better be happy with it.
Surprise?James reached the end of the page. He was going to be a dad. He lowered the paper to reveal a nervous but smiling Lily Potter sitting in front of him.
"There's going to be a new Potter?" James croaked and Lily nodded.
"Please don't be mad." She whispered, but James' face split in to the happiest smile.
"There's going to be a new Potter!" He jumped up and ran to Lily, kissing her wildly on the lips.
"Oh, thank Merlin." She leaned back dramatically and clutched her chest. James was happy, she was happy and, judging on how she felt, the baby was happy.
"When did you find out that there's going to be a new prankster?" James put a hand on her stomach and beamed like a child.
"Baby Potter will not be a prankster and I found out last night when you were snoring like a pig in bed." She laughed, her insides were light and she felt like the war had ended. Then she remembered the it and her heart sunk horribly. What if they didn't make it? No, no, they would make it. At least her child would if she couldn't.
"Elvendork will be a prankster and, if you really want to, it can be a studier too." James very kindly offered and Lily's eyes grew big in disgust.
"Ok, no. We are not naming our child Elvendork. The kid'll get bullied!" Lily stated clearly. She would not tolerate her child being bullied. If they somehow did, she would have a fierce word with their parent. Or carer, not everyone's going to be fortunate in this war. But then Lily realised what a mum she was becoming.
"Suuurree. I'm calling Padfoot and Moony on the fellytone now and tell them the news. Can I?" Lily snorted when James said fellytone. He was constantly saying that and Lily just couldn't help herself. She wasn't the only one, Remus would laugh his head off.
"Hurry up then." She sighed, getting up. This was going to be... interesting.
"Wait, should I pick you up?"
"What?"
"You're gonna have a baby." James reasoned. He believed he was making a very valid point but it was just funny.
"James, I'm a week along. My legs haven't broken." Lily exaggerated the word 'broken' greatly, making him just shrug. They reached the phone and James dialed the number.
"'Ello. Remus Lupin answering." Lily heard the muffled vouce come out from the receiver.
"MOONY, WE'RE HAVING A LITTLE HUMAN!" James screamed in to the phone and Lily heard some shuffling and hushed talking between two people.
"Remmy, pass the phone. I CALL DIBS ON BEING GOD FATHER!"
"You can't just do that." Remus said to Sirius, clearly angry.
"Sorry mate, but he called dibs and you can't do anything with that." James said in to the phone, smiling at Lily and taking her hand.
"HAHA, MOONY I WIN. We can share the job, I suppose. I don't know how to hold babies. Congrats Lily, I can't believe you let James shag you more than once." Sirius said to multiple people. Remus snatched the receiver away from Sirius (the noise said everything).
"Lily, was it planned?" Remus asked from the other end. It wasn't planned and that would just make them seem irresponsible. Snap out of it, Lily, thought the redhead, it happens all the time.
"Err, no." Lily replied honestly. Sirius Black barked his laugh and Lily could feel the anger bubbling inside if her. It wasn't serious anger, just I-Really-Want-To-Kill-You anger. Not Sirius at all. Wink, wink.
"Jeez James, couldn't keep a thing on the end of it, could you?" Sirius smirked and James very proudly replied with,
"Nah. I'm so proud of myself."
"That's my little girl all grown up!"
"Actually, I'm Lily's boy. And I was grown up ages ago. Yes, I was!" James insisted. He certainly didn't look it was all Lily could think of. Despite all her happiness, there was one thing that was bothering her; she was nineteen. Would she be able to cope? What would her dad say?
"Lily, you're being awfully quiet." Remus' voice was muffled as Sirius was still holding the receiver. James was also looking at her weirdly and she could tell he was about to say something.
"I'm fine." Lily lied, she knew she wasn't being very convincing, but she had to hope it was good enough, "Just surprised how well you all took it. I wish Pete would agree to get a phone."
"Don't we all? Anyways, congrats once more, but we gotta go now." An evil grin spread across James' face and she knew something bad was coming their way.
"And do what, shag?"
"Maybe. Ta, now, my dears." Sirius breathed in to the phone. Lily knew he was trying to turn Remus on with his voice and she knew he was going to fall fast. He always did anyway when it came to Sirius. And there was a beep. James put the phone back in its place and turned to Lily.
"Lily, something's bothering you. You need to tell me, sharpish." James insisted. He gripped Lily's elbows and looked her in the eyes. His eyes were swimming with concern.
"I- are we ready for this?" She asked, trying to hide the nervousness in of her voice.
"You are. Not so sure about me. I'll learn." He kissed her forehead amd Lily exhaled deeply.
"I wish your parents could see this." She breathed in to his shirt. His parents had always been the most supportive people and she knew that they would be so proud of their little Jamesie. Lily was proud of James too for not fainting dead away. She then felt someone hoist her up from underneath her thighs and place her against their torso.
"James!" She squeaked. She was absolutely terrified he was going to drop her, but James had a firm grip. He carried her up the stairs and placed her on to the bed.
"I wish my parents could see this too. Now don't think about anything and just relax. I'll even massage your feet." He offered and Lily laughed at how he became a gentlemen in the span of an hour.
"Again, I'm not that far along, but a foot massage doesn't sound half bad." She admitted, wriggling her toes under James' chin.
"Lily."
"James." She said, mocking his tone.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"Yeah, but I love you more."
"Don't give me that cheese."
