this is just a short one and i kinda wrote it in a rush :) just a little quick one so sorry if it's bad.

(y/n) slept soundly on one side of the bed, while Varian lay wide awake on the other.

it was dark. Varian was was scared. sure, (y/n) was right there. but he was still scared. the dark reminded him of the day he realised his mother was never coming back. it made him feel alone.

time was moving by slowly, Varian was still scared and still couldn't sleep.
"(y/n)...?"

(y/n) was still asleep.
Varian looked back up at the ceiling and suddenly had a flashback, a flashback of his mother. "(Y/N)...? (Y/N) PLEASE" he said louder.

she was still asleep. Varian couldn't take it anymore. he started crying softly. tears ran down his face as he quietly called,
"(y/n)...please wake up...(y/n)..."

he feared that one day, he would loose her just like he lost his mother. the darkness put these scary thoughts into his mind and caused him pain.

he was sobbing loudly now. (y/n) heard this and instantly her eyes flung wide open. she turned to look beside her. "Varian!! what's wrong?"

Varian shook his head and cried slightly softer.
"is the dark making you scared again?"
Varian nodded
(y/n) moved closer to Varian's side of the bed.
"it's ok, the darkness can't harm you. I'm here now"

(y/n) wrapped her arms around Varian and pulled him into a cuddle. Varian slowly stopped crying and cuddled back

he felt safer in her arms, like the darkness couldn't get him.

"hey (y/n)?"
"yea?"
"i love you"
