Ch. 10 It's You

KATHERINE'S POV

I. Am. So. Screwed. 

Honestly, I felt like crying. You know, the panicky kind when you don't know what to do and you start hyperventilating and eventually pass out from the lack of oxygen... I could basically feel the five presences standing outside our front door. No, no no, no, no! I'm not ready! Reverse, reverse. Beep. Beep. Beep. It's not working!!!!

Maybe I could sneak ou-" Hello, Alpha!" The voice of my father echoed through the house. Never mind. Well, that was a fail. A big one. No, really? Right when I was thinking that? You had to step foot  Ugh. Well then. I felt like throwing my arms up in the air and screaming in frustration. But of course, I didn't do that at the moment. That would just be weird.

I heard five sets of footsteps enter the threshold. The entire Alpha family was here. Oh goddess.

"Ah, Luna Karen, this is my other 'daughter', Katherine." My 'mom' said in a sickingly sweet tone. Bleh. Try hard. Kiss up. Spawn of Sa-

"So, you're the girl we haven't seen for an entire 13 years." she laughed in disbelief.  "More than a decade. Oh, you're so beautiful!" The Luna gushed. 'Much more beautiful than your family...' I heard her think. "Oh Risa, how could you keep such a gem away from us for so many years?"

I saw my mom's mouth twitch. "Oh I haven't been hiding her. She's just been... busy."

The Luna smiled, obviously suspecting something.

"I'm sorry, but our son, Xander will be running a bit late," The Alpha walked in at that moment. I almost sighed in relief at that, but realized that it just meant that I'll just have a bit more time before we meet again. Which means that I will probably die of nerves before then. 

But who was the fifth set of footsteps? As though the person heard my question, he walked through the door and I watched my older brother, Alex, walk through the doors after the Alpha family, excluding Xander.

Sighing inwardly in relief, I smiled politely at the Luna and Alpha, bowing in respect. "Thank you for the compliment, Luna. It is an honor to finally meet you face to face. As well as you too, Alpha."

"Pleasure is all mine!" She replied to me, smiling. I paused. No one has ever smiled at me before... Except maybe Xander, but that was before he knew who I was. 

After the rest if the introductions, we moved to the dining table and I brought out all the food. When I least expected it, the sound of the front door closing came to my ears. I suddenly heard a squeal that sounded more like screeching. That could only mean one thing.

 Then, an all too familiar face walked through the door and after seeing hime for the first time since the ball, I felt all color drain from my face as two words were breathed at of his lips as soon as his eyes landed on me.

"It's you."

Ohhhh! They met! Finally! What's next?
