it's been five days since jaemin last talked to or texted seri. she felt like she should go talk to the boy but she was afraid. seri constantly asked herself, if i talked to him, what would i say? what would his reaction be? will mark and him still be friends?

to be honest, seri likes jaemin but was she ready to face her feelings? no. this is because she's 17 but has the brain of a five year old.

a ray of light hit seri's eyes while she was lying down. she tossed and turned in her bed. today was the start of a new semester at her school. sure, some might think it's good that there's a new semester, but to seri, it was hell!

jaemin and her previously discussed their classes for the next semester, before the incident of course. it turns out they had two or three classes together. if the incident never happened, seri would currently be thrilled that she had classes with the boy she likes. however, that is not the case at all currently.

"seri, get your lazy butt up. i made breakfast!" mark shouted from the kitchen.

seri groggily got up and sighed.

breakfast today was waffles with fresh fruit and syrup along with a side of sausages. usually seri would get her own breakfast and if mark had made it, it would probably be cereal or something simple. the last time mark made a spread this big was when seri had a piano recital in middle school(which she threw up by the way). seri knew something was up.

as seri was sitting down and beginning to eat, mark was staring at her. "is there something wrong with my face?" seri said sassily.

"besides some drool, why don't you talk to jaemin? i know what happened and jaemin is scared to talk to you again." the last thing seri wanted to hear in the morning was that boy's name.

"well to be honest, i'm scared to talk to him." seri spat out. "when the time comes i'll talk to him." his name was hard to say for some reason.

"seri, this is seriously getting a bit out of hand. i want my friend and sister to be in good terms and at this point you can barely say his name!" it was true seri had a lump in her throat every time she tried to say jaemin's name. that's why she completely ignoring the name. seri felt a longing to talk to, or at least concern the incident with jaemin. the only problem was that she didn't even know how to approach him!

"oh look at the time! gotta go!" seri ran out of the house after slipping into her school clothes and brushing her teeth.

seri's first class was with jaemin. it was also math so that didn't make the situation any better.

seri looked down at her feet to avoid any eye contact with jaemin. when she got to her desk, she bumped into the desk with a great thud emitting some giggles from her classmates. none from jaemin though, not like seri was listening or whatever.

"sit down in your seats, let's take attendance." the teacher exclaimed."

roll call began. as the teacher went down the line, everyone responded with 'here' and 'present'.

"na jaemin?" no response.

"is there a na jaemin?" again, no answer.

seri felt a knot in her stomach. jaemin was absent. thoughts like did he die? did something happen? at least he isn't here. do i want him to be here?

;

school was finally out for the day. seri was glad she didn't have a lot of work to do because this meant she could ponder more about what to do with the situation.

seri was walking home and hit a set of stairs. she was walking too fast and tripped. seri felt herself falling backwards until a gentle hand grasped her back.

"watch out!" a familiar voice said.
