Chapter 4

"Wow, I can't believe you're actually alive," Hazel laughed, looking over the top of the book that she was reading.

"I know right, I mean you could hear the shouting from up here!" Nix added, walking into the room, "If anyone doesn't know who you are already, they sure do now." The group laughed as they all joined Hazel at the table, and Iris started talking about the two scientist she'd met in the lab.

"They seemed nice - totally dating though," she expressed, smirking at the others, "I wonder what Fury would say," causing the group to laugh.

"As if he even knows what goes on here anymore," Hazel pitched in, "and anyway, how could you tell?"

"Puh-lease," Iris laughed, "people who aren't together don't finish each other's sentences, and the looks they were giving each other," she laughed some more before standing up and pouring herself some coffee. She turned around and leant on the counter, sipping her coffee as the group started talking bout her tutor and how Iris was a dead woman because she'd escaped her again.

That's when a loud bang could be heard. A wave of dust came through under the door and then the sirens started wailing.

"I cannot believe this!" Nix mumbled as they all started to pack their things as they had done only a few days ago. "There must be something going on."

After they each packed their bags and grabbed their guns they were about to leave when they heard footprints walk past the door. They instantly crouched, looking through the window to see if they recognised the group.

It was two soldiers with the red hydra logo on their arms.

"I'm sick of that logo!" Jamie whispered, "and I think S.H.I.E.L.D. Needs to move, they obviously know our address and don't understand we don't want them," The four nodded in agreement. Hazel tip-toed closer to the door, looking through the keyhole.

"Erm guys," she spoke quietly, waving to get their attention, "the damage is so much worse than last time, I don't think we can get to the basement." The others frowned.

"We should look around," Iris added, "go the the vehicle deck and try to find someone," she paused, looking round for reasurrence. They nodded once more and she slowly stood up, edging towards the door and opened it slightly, "clear," she whispered and the others followed her until the were standing outside the apartment in a line. Quickly but quietly they made their way done to the vehicle deck, staying out of sight in the shadows, silently mortified by the scenes of destruction the base was now in. There were small fires everywhere you looked and injured soldiers everywhere, some dead so only injured.

When they finally got down the vehicle deck they saw they were the last of many teenagers to be taken away. Many were already on the giant helicarrier, but it was already about to take off. They started running towards it before hearing the sound of footsteps behind them. Pausing briefly to look around, the four noticed the small army coming around the corner. They knew they couldn't make it to the big helicarrier in time and started to panic.

"Over here!" They heard a voice yell, coming from one of the quinjets. Nix and Iris seemed to be the only ones to noticed and grabbed the others, hurling themselves in the direction of the sound. Nix picked up Hazel and used his superspeed to get them both on the jet which was already inches off the ground.

Jamie was the third to make it on, immediately handing his backpack to Hazel and running back to the edge where Iris was vastly approaching. The jet was already a couple of meters in the air and she jumped, only just catching the edge with her fingers. Looking down, the jet was already meters into the air and the army of hydra was out of reach. Jamie and Nix appeared on either side of her, grabbing each of her arms to pull her up.

Once she was on the jet, she went to hug the others. Drawing away from the hug she noticed the others on the ship. There were a line of agents all pointing their guns at them. Each of the four took off their backs as the hatch started to close, before putting their hands behind their heads.

"And who are you?" The woman in the centre asked with an intimidating look on her face. Iris was about to respond when a man spoke.

"Iris?" He asked and she immediately recognised his Scottish accent.

"Fitz?"
