The Bar

It was cloudy and it was probably gonna start to rain when they arrived at the place. It was a large brick building with even larger buildings surrounding it. The street outside wasn't exactly busy, but it wasn't completely dead either. Scattered along the street there were stores and drop-ins, stuff like a tattoo salon and - a bit further down - a store that sold crystals and "magic". Micke had no idea what any of it was, he had never seen anything like it before. Or at least as he could remember. But then again, everything was a bit blurred for him when it came to memory, so there wasn't much to go of.

Along the massive brick walls were neon signs, a big one right above the door they were heading for read "BAR" with purple letters. There was a board by the door with layers upon layers of various posters about musicians and performers. He also noticed how there was no windows.

Joey dug around in his pockets, fumbling to grab a group of keys and quickly looking through each and every single one to find the one to unlock the door. It took just a few seconds for him to get the door open and to step inside, expecting Micke to follow, which he of course did. Anxiously he walked in, stopping right inside and letting the door close behind him. He took a moment to look around the big room as Joey kept walking a bit further.

The room had a moody lighting, with long chains of lights running along beams up in the ceiling. The floor was wooden, and walls a soft brownish white colour. There were posters and pictures scattered about on the walls here, but it felt natural. He also noticed the amount of tables and chairs in there; They were everywhere and leaving little room to move in certain places. Luckily there were bigger corridors between rows, leading up to the main bar. The counter went across the entire back wall, and in front of all that more chairs, but these were much higher than the others. At the very back wall there were shelves with different alcohols and various drinking glasses - some smaller and some massive. And behind all of that there was a mirror, giving the feeling that there was much more than there actually was and making the space a bit bigger. Lights were dimly shining above the bar, a bit stronger than the rest of the lights, but not strong enough to be uncomfortable.

In one of the other walls there was a small stage, with various guitars decorating the wall and a piano in one of the corners. But in the middle of it there was a microphone, and in front of that even more lights. But these were turned off, leaving the stage darker than the main room. He noticed a clock on another wall. 10:30 AM.

"Well, whatcha think?" Joey asked from across the room, now standing behind the bar hands against the counter. Micke looked over and smiled, giving a thumbs up and a nod. 'Yes, I like it'.

Joey smiled back, chuckling softly before straightening his posture and walking around the counter again, motioning for the other to follow. "Come, I'll show you where you'll stay"

He led him to a door which read 'Workers only'. Micke hadn't even noticed it before. But he decided to just go with it and keep following the other man. They walked along a short corridor, doors along it until he stopped by the very end of it, opening the wooden door. There was a rather small room there, with a makeshift bed - which was just a mattress with legs stuck onto it - a small table with a chair, and a light in the ceiling. On one of the walls there was a small and probably unsteady bookshelf, which was empty.

"I know its not much, but... Its the most I could dig up." Joey scratched the back of his head, moving aside to let the young man enter. His eyes darted around the room taking in the details of it before he looked up at the other with the stupidest smile. He wanted to say something about it - anything - but he couldn't catch his words just as before. Instead he made use of his hands and made signs; fist pointing to himself, then showing a heart, then pointing at the room.
