Ignis was reported as a missing student for the rest of the year, which, after the incident was over, went very quickly. Soon enough, (Y/N) was sitting on the train home with the Golden Trio. They were anxious to hear details about the incident that (Y/N) hadn't yet mentioned. ''Bloody hell, did you say Ignis Dulci?'' (Y/N) nodded a little confusedly, asking, ''Yeah, why is his name relevant?'' Ron looked completely taken aback at (Y/N)'s lack of knowledge. ''He's the son of this great witch who rebelled against her pureblooded family and stuff! Pretty mean person, but according to this one girl, he can get even the dullest little Hufflepuff up to the top of the class in a matter of days!'' (Y/N) rolled her eyes. ''Perhaps he can help me get back up to speed with all of the work I missed, then.'' Hermione sighed, replying, ''and that same girl said he wasn't planning on coming back until he'd dragged Opal back to Hogwarts by her curls. If you need help with schoolwork, (Y/N), you can always ask me.'' (Y/N) smiled. She was honestly very thankful for these three; although she didn't feel like she saw them enough, she was truly happy that she had friends. ''My year wasn't really all that interesting though,'' (Y/N) confessed, ''Depressing, but not interesting. Now you three, on the other hand, have had quite the year!'' The trio chuckled a little, with Harry replying, ''I suppose we have, haven't we?'' The rest of the trip entailed (Y/N) being filled in on the events involving the Philosopher's Stone, the troll in the dungeon (which she was most definitely not around to see), and their acts of bravery which had, much to (Y/N)'s delight, won Gryffindor the house cup. It wasn't like she wasn't a little downtrodden by Slytherin losing at the last second, but watching Malfoy's smug expression turn to one of confusion and anger was simply amazing to watch. 'Not that his smug face isn't cute, though...' (Y/N) went rigid and mentally slapped herself for even thinking like that. ''(Y/N), are you okay?'' Asked Hermione, worried as to why (Y/N) had jolted so suddenly. She gestured wildly with her hand, exclaiming, ''Fine, fine, just uh...let my mind...taunt me a bit. Yes.'' She giggled awkwardly, causing the three to get rather suspicious of her. ''Hey, you weren't letting someone taunt your mind, were you? You did say you'd met Ignis Dulci, so—'' Hermione cut him off abruptly, ''Ronald, she met him once! (Y/N) is not stupid enough to fall for someone just because he's...he's nice looking!'' Amorita appeared to roll her eyes before flopping back to sleep. Harry laughed a little, ''It looks like her pet disagrees, Hermione.'' (Y/N) went bright pink, saying quickly, ''I most definitely don't like Ignis Dulci! But, you know...maybe there...'' She started rambling. If the train hadn't stopped, (Y/N) was sure one of the three would have probed an answer out of her. Very faintly through the glass, (Y/N) could see her father; as usual, he was dressed incredibly formally, and his expression was...well, non-existent. A silver cane with a skull made of pure Lapis Lazuli on top was in his hand, almost as if he was desperate to show how above everyone else at the station he was. More than a few parents shot him glares as they walked past. ''Bloody hell, is that your dad?'' (Y/N) gulped, and replied shyly, ''Uh, yeah. He...likes to show he's rich.'' Ron appeared to be trying to work out the man's worth just by looking at him, and he replied quickly, ''That cane alone could probably buy my whole family next year's school supplies!'' (Y/N) sighed and nodded politely as she exited the train; she knew her father didn't like waiting. ''Have a nice summer, all of you!'' Exclaimed (Y/N) quickly, ''You too, (Y/N)!'' came the reply. (Y/N)'s father visibly sighed at the sight of the three Gryffindors, but he tried to smile at his daughter. ''Good afternoon, (Y/N), dear. Did you have a good year?'' (Y/N) was desperate to say the truth, but she knew that if she mentioned why it was so bad, he'd probably keep her home. ''It was okay. Had a few issues with...people, but it was okay. I was nearly top of my class in Charms.'' He smiled, affectionately patting (Y/N) on the head. ''Now, we need to hurry home; I know you hate these formal banquets, but I have many things to discuss with the Malfoy family—'' (Y/N) froze up, but tried to ignore her anxieties as her father apparated them home.
She couldn't help but smile as Wisp's eyes fell on her; it was obvious that she would have smiled back if her father wasn't there too. ''Good afternoon, Miss Silverlie!'' she chirped, ''Did the fair girl have a nice year? We haven't seen your owl once.'' (Y/N) nodded, replying quickly, ''Kind of. I'll explain later.Got to get changed.'' Wisp held the ladle tighter in her hand, saying absentmindedly to herself, ''Wisp isn't very used to other people in this manor...''Her father glared at her, and (Y/N) heard him mutter angrily as she stepped into her room, ''That's because my wife was worried (Y/N) would embarrass us. Sweet Merlin, that woman was the biggest mistake...'' he cut himself off. A dress lay on the bed with a note in possibly the worst chicken scratch (Y/N) had ever seen on it; ''Master Silverlie was ever so kind, and he let me help him choose some of your new banquet dresses! I do hope I made the right decision here.Wisp.'' (Y/N) felt a glimmer of pride fill her body as she slipped her robes off and her new dress on. ''Oh my stars,'' exclaimed (Y/N), ''I wasn't aware I could look at all nice!'' Of course, her hair still hung in tangles and her rather scuffed school shoes were still on her feet, but she truly hadn't worn anything truly pretty since she was about six. She hadn't needed to; she never tended to leave the house. (Y/N) giggled to herself as she went over to her desk for her hairbrush, almost tripping on the shoes that sat by the desk, new and ready for today. 'Wow, father really went all out for me,' (Y/N) mused, 'I suppose he really wants to make sure our family stays valued...' (Y/N) pulled on the soft grey kitten heels that were out for her and dragged a brush through her hair. She looked once more at herself in the mirror, and she almost burst into tears; she wasn't used to this. Even Amorita looked extremely confused that her owner had suddenly gone from a rather ruined looking robe to almost beautiful. ''(Y/N)!'' Called her father suddenly, causing his daughter to almost fall down the stairs in her haste. ''Y-yes, father?'' He smiled at his daughter. ''Well, first off, you really do wash up well,'' he chuckled, ''And second, is that room of yours in order? I'm not sure you or Draco want to sit through a conversation about how your mother and I's split is going to affect-''(Y/N) nodded reluctantly. ''Yeah, it is, but I'm not sure I want him up there. We, uh, argue sometimes...'' (Y/N) trailed off quickly, her father sighing. ''Well,(Y/N), it would really be great if you could not do that. I'm already a little...how do you say, distressed by your current choice of friends. A Weasley, that...Potter boy and a Mud-'' (Y/N) looked away, her father pretending he hadn't gone to say 'Mudblood'. He sighed, continuing, ''I just think it would be an excellent asset. And if you two ever went on to become more than that, I'm sure you'd be welcomed by the Malfoy family.'' (Y/N) went bright pink. ''Father, if I can be perfectly honest, we absolutely hate each other! He was the one who told Hornsby-Umbridge all of those lies about me for the Daily Prophet!'' He sighed, taking a second to regain his composure. ''Luckily for you,'' he chided, ''Miss Hornsby-Umbridge has apologised for her errors, and has admitted that every lie told came from her own quill.'' (Y/N) huffed, exasperated, knowing that that in itself was a lie. ''Fine, I'll entertain your new favourite child for a couple of hours. But don't expect us to walk out of that room attached at the side.'' He sighed gently at his now rather agitated daughter as she stormed back upstairs to complain, mumbling to himself, ''I really need to teach her to keep her mind more closed off...''
