I had to dedicate this too my Wattpad friend, Cool_Story_Bro :) She is incredible, and we need more people like her in this world!
Read the author's note at the end please and thank youu :) & I'm sorry if its horsie, I just needed to add some background to her life and add in her gift with horses. Hope you don't mind, because you will have to put up with it until the exciting part with Reese and Brett!
Enjoy!

My father hasn’t returned after last night, and if I was him I wouldn’t either. I would be too scared to face my daughter, who was covered in scars from my own force. I would feel like a monster.
I sat on the wooden rails of a fence, rethinking my past days. Memories rewind in my head like a movie, swarming like angry bees. I remember running from home when times got rough, and escape into my imagination. I would come to this fence, thinking of ways to deflate my sadness. To just run away from it all on horseback, or in the arms of my charming, seemed too easy.
I looked at my old flip-phone, no messages. Brett hasn’t reached me since the last day of school, and I began to realize my hopes were leading to a dead end. I knew it was to good to be true.
I looked around the property, looking behind to see the barn, and ahead to the house. To my left, was the dirt path; to my right were more paddocks. In the middle, was grass. No horses just overgrown grass.
I decided to go into the barn. I haven’t been in for years, to afraid to face my memories. I jumped down the rail, and hit the soft ground with my converse. I pulled my jean jacket closer to my chest as the breeze sent shivers down my spine. As I reached the wooden barn, I stood directly in front of it, my mind swallowing flashbacks the presences brought.
I slowly reached for the blue and white doors, giving it a hard tug. The doors opened slowly, and a sensation of dust filled air filled my lungs. I coughed, as I accidently inhaled the dust, and peered into the darkness.
The light turned on, sending a burst of light throughout the barn. My eyes peered over my surroundings, my mind being swarmed with emotions. As my eyes adjusted to the light, I fixed my eyes down the hall to see the sixteen stalls that used to be filled with horses.
I remember looking into the barn, being greeted by the fresh scent horses brought, and the cheerfulness their personality spread. A smile would always curve around my face, since I felt safe in there presence. They’re strong heart, and stable mind made my heart feel safe, something I never would feel.
I began to walker further in, looking at all the nameplates on the stalls. Warm tears began to fill in my eyes, and I blinked them away quickly. I couldn’t let the feeling be released; who knows my father may come back soon.
As if on queue, I heard a vehicle coming up our pathway. Nervousness flushed over my body, fearful it may be my father like I suspected.
I ran against the wall of the barn, shuffling to the front doors. I slowly peaked my head around the door, and it wasn’t my dad. It was a black pick-up truck, and my dad owned white SUV. Behind it, was a little black trailer and suspicion grew among my thoughts.
An old, hunched over man climbed out of the seat, looking around for any human activity. I took a step out of the barn, collecting myself to walk over to the stranger. I touched the skin under my eye, remembering if I covered my bruise. I sighed in relief when I saw the light powder dust on my fingertips.
I stood up a little straighter when I walked towards him, because everything was hiding my past all they saw was I, Reese Lawrence a sixteen-year-old hormonal teenager.
