Chapter 33 / Olive's P.O.V
We already made our one stop from the flight to Spain and by the time we got there I felt the warm kisses of the sun peek through the window. I had about five glasses of scotch and surprisingly Pierre added money to my account to make it free. I don't think I've ever had a best friend who could do all of this but I still don't like the idea of people paying for me. I just don't want to be a burden to them, I like making my own wealth even though it's not much.
The lights on the flight turned on with the flight attendants waking up some of the people who were asleep. I grabbed my bag from underneath and waited for the person next to me to leave first, I finally grabbed my baggage and started rolling it down the aisle towards the exit. I turned my phone off airplane mode and do not disturb to find messages from Pierre.
"Are you here?"
"I'm already two hours early."
"Come on, come on, come on!"
"I got your favorite tart pastry!"
The messages were flying in rapidly and some of them were Pierre taking a self-image to the airport, at the airport and waiting for me down the escalators with the tart. I laughed at the images and continued to make my way outside, once I got off the plane I felt a bit wobbly and nauseous. I needed some water or food, everything felt dry in my mouth, I groaned hoping I wasn't sick or maybe I'm just hungover.
As I scrambled through the crowd trying to find the exit, as I went down the escalators I found a large group of people with name cards. People were following their names but I couldn't see mine, Pierre said he would be here. Looking left and right I didn't see anybody but eventually, I felt my body lunge forward causing my luggage to topple over. I hit the ground a bit roughly and let out a groan, I felt a tight squeeze around my body.
"Olive!" The familiar scream rang in my ear and I felt my body clung tighter and my chest running out of the air.
"P-Pierre, l-let go of me."
"Why should I?" He raised his voice with glee.
A pair of foot steps that sounded heavier than everyone else walked over towards us, "Sir, Miss, you need to get up off the floor people are trying to pass through," A security guard spoke.
I eyed Pierre and he looked at me with a giant grin on his face, we stood up from our place people were glancing at us awkwardly. Pierre shooed them off and apologized to the security, I picked up my luggage and backpack and stretched my back from everything I just went through. Pierre slowly turned around after shooing people away and had his arms wide opened with his eyebrows wiggling.
"Come here and give me a proper hug you doofus," I smiled, he crouched down and slowly walked towards me in awkward running situations and scooping me up over his shoulders. "That's not a proper hug!"
