Chapter 4

15 days before

 As I am getting ready for the party that is in one hour, the memories of last weeks friday play back through my mind. I haven’t laughed that hard in a while. Kicking butt at air hockey is a lot of fun.

  A noise from my phone disturbs my thoughts. I pick it up to see its from Levi. “Hey babe. Ready to have some fun ;). Pick you up in thirty minuets. See you then.”

  “Can’t wait, see you soon. Love you <3 ~Sky”

  I pack some gum, and lip gloss into my purse and go down stairs to have something to eat before I go to a party that serves nothing but alcohol and pizza. After scarfing down a granola-bar, the car horn outside signals Levi’s arrival. I close the door behind me and see Levi and his sister sitting in the car, both of them looking at their phones. I open the front car door and give a quick kiss to Levi. Brooke makes a quick gagging motion and gives me a hug from behind as Levi drives down to the house the party is at. As we pull into the drive way there are people on the lawn drinking out of red cups. “You guys ready to have fun?” Brooke asks with excitement.

  We say nothing as we open the door and walk into the smokey filled house. “Hey, Levi, whats up bro?”

  “Hey dude, I’m just gonna hang out with Sky, but I talk you guys later. Maybe we can play some cards later?”

  Levi’s friends nods then leaves with Brooke under his arm. 

  Levi hands me a cup, and I take a sip of the liquid and put the cup down.  We take a seat on the couch and look at the people playing games on the floor in front of us. I feel Levi’s eyes on me, I turn towards him and he chuckles.

  “What are you doing?” I smile.

  “Nothing, just looking” he grins.

  He leans toward me and puts his lips on mine and picks me up to put him on his lap. “Want to go upstairs?” Even though my eyes are closed I know that he is smiling.

  “No”

  “Why not?” He pouts

  “You know why not, I don’t want to do that until later on.”

  “Come on please” He begs as I pull his lips away from mine.

  “No, why don’t you just respect that?” I say

  “We have been dating for three years, thats a long time.”

  I stand up from the couch and cross my arms. “We have had this conversation before, if you can’t except that then why don’t you just end this.”

  He doesn’t say anything but his eyes look apologetic. I walk towards the front door half excepting Levi to follow me, but he doesn’t. Maybe thats for the best, I need to cool off. I step out into the drive way and pull out my keys, but yet I have no car. My cars at home. I don’t want to get Levi, I don’t want to see anyone that goes to these parties right now. The only one in my contacts list that isn’t in that house right now is Emmett. Before I know what I am doing I hit his number and put my phone up to my ear. He answers the phone and doesn’t ask any question when I tell him I need to be picked up from the address of the house I am standing in front of.

  Twenty minuets later I see a black car pull up. I open the passenger car door and see Emmett in pajama bottoms and a plain undershirt. I turn on my phone and see that its later than I thought it was, 2:34.

  “Thanks, I’m sorry I didn’t know how late it was.”

  “No problem. Are you okay?”

  “Yeah, I’m fine I just want to go home.” I give him my address and looks ahead to the road and doesn’t say another word until we pull into my drive way.

 EMMETT’S P.O.V

  Hundreds, hundreds of contacts and she chose me, maybe because she trusts me. She opens the passenger door and before she closes the door she leans down. 

  “Thanks for this, I just couldn’t stay at that party.”

  I hope every things okay, but I don’t want to bother her about it, if she doesn’t want to talk about it I respect that.

  “Okay, well if you ever need any help, just call me.”

  She smiles and closes the car door and waves goodbye as I pull out onto the street.
