Chapter 13

For this moment I think time actually goes in slow motion, which is good because I want to capture every part of Levi being knocked onto his ass. It doesn't last long though, he gets straight up and fixes his hair. Of course. I feel like laughing, but thats probably not the best idea so I just squeeze Emmett's hand and grin. Levi opens his mouth but he doesn't say anything. He pulls out his keys, gets in his car and drives away with his buddies inside. Emmett's looks at me, his face is flush. I let go of his hand and put both of my hands on his face. "That was amazing!" I say kissing him.

He seems mad, I hope he doesn't pull back. "Thanks, but next time, just stay in the car."

As we get in the car, his eyes look straight down the road. It's not the blank stare that is uncomfortable, it's the utter silence i. "So, do you want to go anywhere this weekend, I heard your friends are having another party," I say trying to lighten the mood.

He doesn't say anything to me, but he just nods his head, whatever that means. We say nothing on the way home. When he drops me off a my house, I kiss him on the cheek. He slightly grins. "Thanks for being by my side back there,"

"Of course, you mean everything to me. I'll talk to you later, okay?" I nod, and he smiles. He drives off seeming a bit bipolar.

EMMETT'S P.O.V

My knuckles hurt from Levi's surprisingly sharp cheek bones. I have been in a fight before, but I was never the one to start it, I was mostly just defending myself. I pull into my winding driveway and see no lights on, but there is something going on inside. I step out of my car, not closing my door yet and just sit there for a moment and hear screaming until I hear what is probably a bottle smash against a wall. Almost automatically, I get back in my car, turn on the radio, loud, and drive back down my winding driveway.
