"I'm almost tormented to death by your conflicted scenes in the last three months, and finally, here comes the happy stage." Since they had some spare time, the assistant director could steal some time to chat with the actors, "But it's great to do honeymoon shot now. Mr. Leon and Mr. Jules, you two are familiar with each other so it won't be too embarrassing."
Leon was reading the script, holding a heating pad inside his coat. On hearing the assistant director's words, Leon looked and felt confused: "Why is it embarrassing? I can do this kind of shoot the first day I join the crew."
"That is the Movie King I know," The assistant director smiled and then looked at Jules: "What about you Mr. Jules? Do you feel uneasy doing the shot? "
Jules forced a smile: "I... I am not as professional as Leon. "
"Look." The assistant director smiled, "It's reasonable to feel like this. By the way, do you know Zane?"
Leon frowned: "Who's that?"
"I haven't worked with him, but I know him." Jules turned back to Leon and explained, "Zane was a swordsman in Vengence last year. Vengence was a TV series that aired its last season last summer, and it was quite popular."
Leon still had no idea about whom Jules was talking about, and he gave a blank look to Jules to express his confusion about the young actor circle that Jules was in.
The assistant director smiled at Jules s words: "Zane is not as popular as Jules. I know there is no chance Mr. Leon would know him. Zane will join the crew today. He will play the bartender."
Jules understood now.
In the scene, Miner screwed with the bartender twice. Peters bumped into them when they were on the bed for the second time, which became the reason for the split.
"Zane passed the audition three month ago, but he has not worked until day, so he didn't join the crew. We are modifying the script for the honeymoon, right? Director Tripp is afraid of wasting time waiting, so he decided to let Zane play his part in advance." The assistant director smiled, "He should have come here earlier. Usually Director Tripp asks actors to join the crew half month earlier to ensure they can get down to the atmosphere of the scene and into their roles."
Speak of devil, an assistant came for the assistant director: "Zane is here."
The assistant director left.
Zane was two years older than Jules, but because of his baby face, he looked even younger than Jules.
Zane was shorter than Jules, and he was less than 5'9" tall. After make up and getting dressed into the bartender's costume, Zane looked just like a college student who did a work-study job.
Zane had an outgoing personality and was humorous and good looking. Tripp commented on his audition: "He is naturally seductive." Zane was also modest. He never got anxious about being on the sideline for so long after joining the crew. He just focused on the script, reading the biography of his character. The assistant director and others were amazed at his behavior: Who says none of the young actors are professional and attempt to make progress? They work harder one over the other!
Surely, Zane was more junior than Jules in acting. Since his debut, he had always acted in supporting roles. Besides the TV show, his performance became a hot topic last year but he wasn't very popular. Fortunately, his acting was not so bad, although Tripp was barely satisfied with the first scene Zane did after joining the crew.
Next to the bar at an after-hours club, they began shooting Zane's first scene with Leon.
"Don't try too hard. This is the first time you met Miner. He didn't take it seriously, and you too." Said Tripp, "The last shot was not natural enough. Open up."
Apparently, Zane was a little intimidated by Tripp. He answered: "Yes, I will."
"Let's do it again."
Tripp went back to his position.
Jules wasn't too far away. He looked at Leon and Zane there together, and said to himself, "It should've also looked like this when he acted with Leon."
Jules had nothing to do today. On hearing Leon and Zane would do the shoot of their first meeting, he could not help coming to watch.
In the shot, among the wine cabinets standing tall and dim, ambient lights, through the gaps of different bottles, Jules could vaguely see Zane huddled with Leon in a corner.
Leon reluctantly allowed Zane to press him on the wall, smiling: "Don't you need to do wine mixing now? What about your work?"
"My partner will change shift with me in five minutes." The hand Zane pressed against Leon's shoulder drifted lower and finally stopped around Leon s waist.
Zane stroked Leon's waist in an ambiguous way, and his voice was lower and lower, the mild words coming out of his mouth: "Take me home?"
Leon held Zane's chin with one hand to force him to look up. Zane looked up at Leon without hesitation. He smiled and attempted to kiss Leon. After hesitating for a moment, Leon covered Zane's mouth with his backhand and pushed him away.
"Sorry, I have a date. "
Zane shrugged his shoulders and looked like "Whatever." He soon went to clean up the wine cabinets.
Leon straightened himself up, took a detour through cabinets and left the club.
"Cut."
After re-shooting for four times, Tripp eventually nodded: "Pass."
Jules sighed of relief.
Finally.
Jules was a little annoyed. Although he knew it was not professional, but seeing Leon having an affair behind his character's back still made him jealous.
He was too deep in his role.
Jules bowed his head and reflected on himself. Then he picked up his bag, ready to go back to his dressing room to escape from the torture.
Traditionally, after shooting with Jules, while waiting during the scene change, Leon would chat with him or make jokes to kill time.
Jules did not want to see Leon talking and laughing with Zane in such a way.
Will Leon also tell those salacious jokes to Zane?
Jules did not dare to continue with these thoughts. He quickened his pace to make all of this out of sight and out of mind.
"Where is Jules?" Leon took the hot black tea Vivian gave him and looked around for Jules. His sharp eye soon locked on Jules's back, so he followed him with great strides.
Leon grabbed Jules's arm, smiling, "Where are you going?"
Jules never thought Leon would follow him, and said with embarrassment, "I... I have nothing to do now. I am just wandering around. "
,
"Wandering around? Whom are you kidding?" Leon chuckled and took a sip of tea, "I saw you watching us while we were acting. You sat at the southwest corner, didn't you? "
Jules never thought Leon had noticed him, and he could not control himself to be happy.
I...I was just looking." Jules was afraid that Leon would ask for more details, so he insisted, "I didn't do anything."
