Fortunately, Leon was not stuck with this matter. He asked, "How about the last shoot?"
Jules came up with a stunned silence. He worked with Zane. Why not discuss it with Zane or Tripp, but come to me?
"G...great." Jules answered honestly, "Both of you performed great. The vibe was excellent."
"Then why are you running way? I..." At this point, Tripp sent someone to Leon. Leon responded and gave the hot tea to Jules. He said hurriedly, "Hold that for me. I'll talk to you later."
Jules dully held the tea that Leon had few sips of. Just for few seconds, the disappointment inside him disappeared.
Jules coughed a bit, and criticized himself. What he thought and did just now was so unprofessional! Leon is an artist. He is devoted to his work. It was just acting!
In addition, Leon had already told him that he never takes advantage of others when acting. His words carried weight. How can he break his words?!
Jules, the one who was taken advantage of by Leon for countless times, sat down with Leon's tea happily, waiting for Leon to finish acting and coming to talk with him.
Leon had another shoot with Zane, and this time Zane one hundred percent opened up. It only took them twice to get passed by the director.
"Good job. However, you have to pay attention to your eyes. Ensure your eyes are not glazed. Don't glare to make your eyes look good. Don't do this! Concentrate! And this will make your eyes piercing." Tripp kept nagging Zane, "When you looked at him just now, your sight rested on his chest one second before, and this won't work..."
Leon was bored, so he turned back to Jules. Almost a half hour had passed, but Jules was still sitting there, holding the hot tea waiting. Leon could not help but smiled.
On seeing Leon smiling at him, Jules thought Leon wanted his tea back, so he got up hurriedly and offerred: "Would you like some tea, Leon? But it's cooler..."
"No, it's fine". Smiled Leon: "It's to warm your hands up."
Jules dazed for a second, and his fingertips seemed to have been warmed by the hot tea, reddened as Jules's face.
"The weather is cooling down these days. It's so fucking cold." Leon rubbed his hands, asking, "Have you watched it?"
Jules's cheek was reddish, ecstatically thinking about the tea. On hearing Leon's question, he asked, "Watch what?"
Leon walked inside and Jules followed. Leon said disjointedly, "You know. It's Ze... Za..."
Leon was stuck on the name.
Jules immediately understood Leon's thought, reminding him with a whisper, "Zane, Zane you mean."
"Yes, Yes, Zane." Leon glanced at Zane and Tripp in the distance, saying, "He acts naturally while shooting, even when it comes to physical contact. Did you notice that?"
Jules was sincerely convinced of it, nodding: "Yes. His movements all felt like a nice coherent entity, not stiffy at all."
Leon whispered, "That's enough. Acting is not about staged photography. You don't need stick to so-called golden angel in each frame. Don't try too hard. It will make you look stiff."
Jules listened to Leon carefully, nodding and promising under his breath: "I will keep that in mind."
It occurred to Leon that last time he criticized Jules of his line, Jules looked very disappointed, so he added, "But you're better than him in other ways. His eyes were not acting."
Jules wanted to laugh but worried it was appropriate in such a situation, so he kept a straight face, nodding: "Thank you very much, Leon."
"What are you doing here, Jules?" Tripp showed up and asked Jules, "Aren't you cold?"
The scene of the bar was originally a nightclub that had been closed down for half a year. After being decorated by the staff, the nightclub became a gaudy, gift-wrapped place, but outside the screen, everything was tatty. Moreover, because no one paid the heating bill for this place, although the crew brought an electric radiator in the interim, in this large open area, such a little heat was just a drop in the ocean. The indoor temperature only reached 40° F.
Jules did not have work to now, so Tripp could not figure it out why he was there exposed to the cold.
Jules felt a little embarrassed, "I am here to ... visit and learn."
Tripp looked at Leon, "I have nothing to say about you. Just play normally. But you, Jules..."
Tripp reminded him, "Are you ready for the shoot with Leon this afternoon?"
Leon lit a cigarette, and rushed to reply before Jules opened his mouth, "I have told him everything."
Tripp did not say anything more, "Ok, I am done taking. Let's finish this morning. It's too cold. Take care."
Jules was moved by Leon.
Did he save him from being scolded by Tripp through instructing him first?
Whether Leon did this on purpose or not, Jules felt like drinking the honey sweet in his heart.
Tripp went straight away. Zane smiled at Leon, saying politely, "Thank you very much for today's work, Leon."
Leon nodded lightly, turning to Jules: "Get yourself ready. Let's knock off earlier this afternoon. I have some plans tonight."
Jules answered at once, "For sure! I will do my best!"
Leon went away with his people. Jules gave Zane a polite smile, "See you later, Zane."
Zane replied with a smile as well, "See you."
In the car back to the hotel, Willet whispered in Jules's ear, "I don't think the Movie King likes Zane very much."
Jules look at Willet blankly, "Really? I have no idea."
"I am not really sure... But I feel every time Zane tries to approach Leon. He seems stand-offish." Willet analysed, "Zane is nice. He has a good look and manner. When did he offend Leon?"
Jules tried to recall, but he was not sure: "Actually... maybe it's because Leon is stand-offish to everyone. It's how he is. "
Willet's eyes looked Jules up and down, curling his lips, "But why do I feel the Movie King was especially friendly to you?"
Jules banged his fist on Willet happily, gloating silently.
Jules performed much better than before when he acted with Leon in the afternoon...
After revising the script of the honeymoon several times, the crew made deep cuts in lines, so it depended more on the actor's acting skills to express the changes of the characters' sentiment.
