She approached me in our math class, her homework marked with red. "You're smart, can you help me?" I looked up from my own paper and nodded. "Of course, pull up a chair." I scooted mine over as she pulled hers over and next to mine. "So, problem 5. You have..."

The action of her asking for math help became a regular thing. She and I exchanged numbers so we could FaceTime after school. We would begin to compare answers and I'd walk her through the ones she didn't understand.

One Friday night, when we were planning to study she came over with a laptop and an un-popped bag of popcorn. "What is this, Rey? Where are your things?" I asked her as she walked in. "We're not studying tonight, remember? You said, and I quote, 'we should just hang out and watch a movie sometime soon' and that is what we're doing." I sighed and lead her up to my room. "Give that here, I'll go make it." Handing me the bag of popcorn I went downstairs, only to return minutes later with a bowl of fresh popcorn.

"So, what movie then?" I asked her, walking over and sitting on my bed next to her. "Ratatouille." She said, putting the disk into her computer. "Why? That's a children's movie!" I exclaimed to her. "Because I did some research on you and found it's your favorite movie." My eyes rolled and I sighed in defeat. "Wow, I'm impressed." She pumped her fist in the air. "Yes!"

"Now, see? That's an outburst you should internalize." I teased the girl as she blushed a soft pink. "Just shut up and watch the movie." She sheepishly told me, looking to the side. I let out a soft giggle and did as I was told for once.

Towards the end of the movie, I feel something slump against my shoulder and turn my head. 'Fallen asleep, not surprised.' I though as I gently moved her so she was lying down. I closed her computer and set it on my nightstand, the popcorn on top of it. I covered her with her own blanket as I got under my covers. "Goodnight, Rey." I said to her softly.

Sometime during the night, I faintly felt a hand reach out, grabbing mine and squeezing.
