I was walking around looking for Mal and Evie, then I saw Evie talking to Doug. I smiled at the two, they're so cute! I walked up to Evie and tapped her shoulder. "I'm sorry to interrupt but I need your help." Before Evie could answer Mal came over in a panic. "Oh, there you two are!" Mal said, "I have literally been looking everywhere for you two." Evie and I looked at each other confused and then back at her. "What's wrong, M?" Evie asked. "Ben just asked me on a..." Mal faltered, "a...date" I smiled at her, Ben finally got the guts to ask her out. I looked over at Evie and she nodded. Doug laughed and looked at me. "Nice" He said. I giggled and nodded. "I'll talk to you later" Evie said to Doug, she stood up and walked away with Mal and I. "You're looking pale" I said. "Yeah of course" Mal said. "I can fix that with some gloss and some blush" Evie said. "No!" Mal said. "But Mal..." I said. "No and no!" She said. I was on Evie's bed as Evie was helping Mal get ready, I already did my part. Evie was putting the last touches with a thin layer of blush. "Okay!" Mal said pushing Evie's hand away, "Like I said, easy on the blush. I don't want to scare him away." "Not like you could" I told her. Mal and Evie looked at me confused. "What I mean is that my brother really likes you, so you wouldn't be able to plus you're beautiful." The girls nodded and Mal said, "Thanks." "Don't worry, my mom taught me how to apply blush before I could talk. Always use upward strokes" Evie said putting down her brush. "My mom was never really big on makeup tips" Mal said. Evie applied lip gloss of Mal's lips, I smiled at the two and put my hand on Evie's shoulder. "Well, now you've got a makeup expert" I said. "Believe me, we're going to need all the family we can get if we don't pull this off...my mother isn't a barrel of laughs when she doesn't get her way. Just ask Snow White" Evie said. I looked at her confused but shook it off. "Are you afraid of your mom, Evie?" Mal asked. "Sometimes" Evie replied, "are you afraid of your mom?" "I just want her to be proud of me. She gets so angry with me when I disappoint her. And she-yeah, she's my mom, so I know she loves me...in her own way." Mal said. "Everyone wants their parents to be proud of them" I said. "At any point in time are you scared of your parents?" Evie asked looking at me. I looked at her and nodded. "Just because my parents are labeled good doesn't mean that they can't be scary" I said, "I'm a little scared of my dad, my mom not so much. I just don't want to disappoint them, especially my dad. Ben and I are going to be crowned king and queen on Friday and as nerve racking that is, I have twice as many responsibilities. I want him to think that I'm fit and mature enough to be a queen. I'm scared that if I mess up he'll yell at me. My dad has a bit of a temper, I do too but his is really bad." I said. Mal then asked, "Is that why you jump when someone is yelling?" I then said, "Yep because my mind goes straight to my dad." Evie and Mal looked at me and nodded. "I would've never thought" Mal said. Evie took Mal's hand and we sat in silence for a while. "Anyway...moving on" Evie said pulling Mal to the mirror and Mal looked at herself in awe. "Wow" She whispered while fixing her jacket "I look..." "Look..." I said. "Not hideous" Mal said. "Not even close" Evie said. "Definitely" I said in agreement. The three of us laughed at smiled. Just then Roxy ran in slamming the door. "Is it true! Is what Jay said true?" Roxy asked looking at me. "Is what true, exactly?" I asked. "Jay just told me that Carlos asked you out on a date and you said yes!" Roxy said out of breath, "I ran here as fast as I could." I felt the girls look at me, I looked down and smiled. I nodded my head and bit my lip, the girls shrieked and Evie ran up and hugged me. "When's the date?" Mal asked. "He said he was going to pick me up in an hour or so" I replied. "So that's why you needed my help" Evie said. "Yeah...I needed Mal's help too because you both know Carlos well but that's okay. I can figure it out" I said. Before Evie or anyone could say anything, there was a knock on the door. Mal opened it and it revealed my brother. "For the first time, I understand the difference between pretty and beautiful" He said, he looked at her and smiled. Mal laughed but smiled in return. "I hope you like bikes" He said holding out a helmet, the minute he said that I knew right away where he was taking her. Mal nodded and took the helmet, the two of them disappeared down the hall way. Evie closed the door slowly, when the door was closed she turned around and looked at me. "Now let's get you ready for your date" She said smiling. I looked at her and Roxy. Roxy smiled and nodded. "Do what you have to do" I said. "I know just the thing" Evie said. And with that Evie and Roxy started working.
