Chapter 19

As me and Ben walked away, he looked at me with concern. "Are you sure you're okay Bella?" He asked. "I'm fine" I said, "I just did a bit of thinking that's all." Ben nodded and we soon met up with our parents. Mom rushed up to me and gave me a hug. "Oh Bella! Are you okay, dear?" She asked. "I'm fine mom" I replied. "Don't listen to what they say Bella, you'll be a great queen" Dad said. "Um...about that" I said, "I think it's best if Ben is the only one being crowned tomorrow." My family looked at me in shock. "What do you mean?" Mom asked. "You both are the age to be crowned rulers of Auradon" Dad said. "I don't want to be queen. I never did." I said, "When Ben is married his wife will have to become queen, it only makes sense if it just becomes Ben's coronation. "Are you sure this is what you want dear?" Mom asked. "My heart tells me this is the best thing to do" I said. "Bella, you can't just drop out of the coronation" Dad said. "I know that...I'll still be there, it's just I won't be crowned queen" I said. "Bella" Ben started saying. "Ben listen, I know you're scared of being crown King but having one ruler at a time is better for the kingdom" I said. "This is why you should be queen" Ben said. "I'll make a deal, being queen is too much for me but perhaps I can be your Royal adviser" I said. Ben and I looked over at our parents with hopeful eyes. "I'm not sure Bella" Dad said. "Dad please, it's the best for the kingdom, plus Ben can only be king for so long" I said. "She has a point dear" Mom said. "So, what do you say?" Ben asked. "Can I be his royal adviser?" "That's not up to me, that's up to your brother" Dad said. I smiled wide and hugged him. "Thank you for understanding" I said. He hugged me back and kissed my head. "You just continue to follow your heart" He said, "but you will walk in with Ben tomorrow." I nodded and smiled. "Of course! Thank you" I looked over at Ben and smiled. "So, am I good enough to be your Royal Adviser?" I asked. "I honestly couldn't think of anyone who was better for the job" He said. I hugged Ben and he laughed hugging back. "It's going to be fun bossing my sister around" He said. "YOU know that's not what a royal adviser is" I said, "A Royal Adviser is a mentor or guide, they normally have more and deeper knowledge about a specific area and adviser help you make decisions about difficult things, it's technically another part of leadership." "So basically, you're my right-hand man?" Ben said. "Basically, yes but in this case. I'm your right-hand woman" I said. "Cool, you're perfect for the job" Ben said. "Great! Now that's all settled, we will see you tomorrow at the coronation" Dad said. We had a family group hug and Ben and I waved as my parents left. Me and Ben said good nights and left to our own dorms. When I walked in my dorm, I saw Evie there with Roxy.

"Hello Evie, Roxy" I said. "Hey Bella" They said. "What brings you by Evie?" I asked. "You know how I said I was going to make you something?" Evie asked. "Yes, I remember that" I said. "Well, you probably already have a dress, but I made you a dress to wear tomorrow." "You made me a dress?" I asked smiling. "Yes" She said, Evie pulled out a bag and unzipped it revealing gorgeous red dress. My hand flew to my mouth, I was in awe. "Evie" I said, "this is beautiful" "You really think so?" She asked, "I remembered about the enchanted rose in your parent's story, so I figured your mother would wear her yellow dress and your father were his blue suit and Ben with his suit, I thought why no compare you to the enchanted rose." "Evie, you truly are brilliant" I said taking the dress from her. "I'll wear this tomorrow, you have my word." Evie's eyes lit up. "Will you really?" "Of course, between me and you, I never really liked the dress my mother picked for me to wear." Evie smiled more and gave me a hug. "This means so much to me Bella! Thank you" Evie said. "I should be the one thanking you" I replied laughing, "but it really doesn't matter what I'm wearing tomorrow." "What do you mean?" Roxy asked, "did you?" "Yes, I did, I am not going to be crowned Queen tomorrow." Evie looked at me in shock. "Hold that thought" she ran over next door and came back with Mal, Jay, and Carlos. "Okay say it again so this time I know you aren't joking" Evie said. I walked over to my closet and hung up my dress. "I said, I'm not going to be crowned Queen tomorrow." "What! Why?" Carlos asked. "It just not what I want, I already discussed this with my parents and they understand." "So, what is going to happen tomorrow?" Mal asked. "I'm am going to be King Ben's Royal Adviser." I said. I smiled proudly at my friends. "Royal adviser?" Jay asked. "Yes, basically, what I do is guide Ben into the right direction of running a kingdom" I said. "So, like his right-hand man?" Carlos asked. I smiled and said, "Correction, right-hand woman." "That's pretty cool" Mal said. "It makes sense to" Roxy said, "I mean it's better this way, you run the books, Ben makes all the decisions. Personally, I think it's better than having a king and queen." "It also gives been a chance to have a queen for when he gets older" I said. "So for tomorrow, me and you will be in the front right?" Carlos asked. "Of course, I will walk in with Ben. Because being the royal adviser I must be with him" I said, "other then that I'll be with you the whole time." He smiled and nodded. "I'm okay with that" He said. I laughed and looked at the time. "Would you look at the that? Time has really gone fast today" I said. "It really has, or maybe it's Maddie fiddling with our clock again" Roxy said, "I mean look at outside, it's not even dark yet and the clock says it 10:00 pm?" "And I would've thought she would turn it back not forwards" I said giggling. "You'll never understand that girl" Roxy said. "We must get going" Mal said "big day tomorrow." "Okay, I will see you guys tomorrow." "Get some rest Bella" Carlos said kissing my forehead "I love you." "I love you too" I said, "Oh and Carlos?" "Yeah?" "Our carriage will meet us at the front of the school so met me in front with Ben and Mal" I said. "Sure thing" He said. "I'll come by tomorrow and help do your hair and makeup" Evie said. "You might as well get ready here" I said smiling, "You are welcome to come too Mal." "Sure we'll both be here" Mal said. "See you later, B" The girl called leaving the room.

I saw Carlos push Jay forward and Jay walked over to Roxy. I looked at Carlos confused but he just winked at me. I turned my attention to Roxy and Jay. "Hey Roxy?" Jay asked. Roxy looked at Jay as she cleaned her arrows. "Yeah?" "Um...I was wondering...if you know..." "No, I don't but I would if you tell me" She said laughing. "Would you come to the coronation with me?" Jay asked. Roxy looked at me in shock and I just smiled. I walked over to Carlos and linked our arms. "Really?" She asked. "Yeah...I understand if you don't..." "No, no I want to go with you" She said. Jay smiled and hugged her. "Great! I'll see you tomorrow" He kissed her cheek and Carlos kissed mine. They both ran out of the room closing the door. Me and Roxy looked at each other for a moment and then started having a freak attack. "Oh my god!! Did he just?" Roxy asked. "Yes!" I yelled. "And did I just?" "Yes!" "I'm going on a date with Jay!!" The two of us hugged and jumped around. "I'm so happy for you Roxy" I said. "I can't stop smiling" She said laughing. "I know that feeling" I said. "This is just amazing" She said falling into her bed, I sat on mine and laughed. "Your dream has come true" I said, "told you wishing on a star helps." She looked at me and laughed. "I still think you should be queen and show those haters and jerks wrong." "Roxy, I am not fit to be a queen and I don't want to." "I still think...wait a minute does that mean you plan everything?" "I help plan things...why?" "You're going to throw a party tomorrow after the coronation, aren't you?" "Why yes...yes I am" I said smiling. "You amaze me and so many ways Bella" Roxy said laughing. "After all this time, I still do" I said laughing with her. The two of us got ready and talked for the rest of the night, I found that Evie made Roxy and Maddie a dress also. It was cool that she did that for us when she really didn't need too. All I remember was me and Roxy laughing about nothing in particular and soon falling off to sleep.
