Sasuke POV

I stood there staring at Naruto not quite believing that it's the same dobe that use to shout loudly to anyone that would listen how he was going to be Hokage someday, I came back to reality to hear Lee talking about the birth and how Naruto was going to be there to help and also guard them in case anyone tries to attack, since Sakura has got some enemies like the rest of us, plus if anyone knew one of Konoha's top medical shinobi is pregnant they would try and harm them, I wonder if I could go along with them, over the week Naruto has been gone on his mission I've spoken to Sakura a few times and while it wasn't easy to explain why I came back, I didn't think she would allow me anywhere near Naruto without causing me any pain, which I've heard she's quite capable of doing but it won't be worth anything if Naruto won't talk to me, he won't even be in the same room as me I need to know why he's like this and see if I can get him to smile again

"Naruto, normally I wouldn't ask this of you since you are the only shinobi that is willing to go on those SSS-rank missions but I'm going to be keeping you in the village for awhile" Kakashi ordered while looking slightly sad, I frowned slightly when I saw Naruto clenched his fist "is there a particular reason why I'm getting ordered to stay in the village, Hokage-sama" Naruto demanded firmly, as he narrowed his eyes at the Hokage "there is, I'm afraid that our enemies don't like the fact that the son of the Fourth Hokage is extremely powerful, some of them are determined to fight you every time you leave for a mission to test their own strength" Kakashi admitted softly, I froze why is he still getting anger directed at him {I thought people stopped holding grudges after the war} I thought trying to understand what's going on "they already do that anyway, so what's the difference now" Naruto snarled heatedly at our old sensei "why didn't you tell me" Kakashi shouted angrily "because Hokage-sama I'm quite capable of fending off a couple of pathetic idiots who think I'm nothing like my father, if you ever gave me attention the way you gave the asshole over there then you would of known that" Naruto spat before disappearing in a swirl of wind, fire and water leaving us all to stare in shock at the place he was just standing in

Kakashi POV

I was really shocked by his outburst, I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard someone sigh, I looked over I saw Sakura shake her head "you knew didn't you Sakura" I whispered knowing she would hear me "it depends" she sighed before sitting down when Lee moved her closer to a chair "are you talking about the enemy shinobi fighting him when he leaves the village or what he said about you" she commented slowly as everyone listened "both" I answered simply, she nodded "then yeah I did know, which is why whenever he came back from a mission I would always check his body for injuries, since he won't set foot in the hospital and he's right about what you were like back then sensei, you never gave him any attention, it all went to Sasuke" she paused to take a deep breath "when I think about my own behaviour back then I'm ashamed of how I acted towards him, these last few years I've tried to make up for not being there for him when he needed someone the most" she stopped looking out the window

"Sakura why didn't you tell us, we would of helped" Hinata asked gently as she moved closer to the pink haired woman, Sakura looked at her and smiled sadly "he didn't want to bother anyone even now it takes a lot for him to be in the village for long periods of time, which is why he goes on so many missions" she looked at me then sadly "now do you see why he can't talk to you like you want him too, he can't believe that you want to talk to him but because who his father was to you" Sakura finished before getting up to leave "how can I make it right" I pleaded softly, wanting to make it up to Naruto because he deserves it, now that I think about it Naruto stopped asking me to train him after I told him a few times that I needed to help Sasuke, the pain in my heart deepened at the thought of betraying sensei's son "I honestly don't know if you can, he keeps his heart locked away quite tightly now" Sakura muttered then she was gone
