Sarutobi POV

I knew this day would come that he would be needed back in the village but how will the rest of the village take to him being so different to what they know of him, I sighed today is going to be a very long day I could feel it "Anbu get me the rookies and their sensei's" I ordered firmly, when they left I leaned back in my chair wondering how this particular group will take it, especially Sasuke Uchiha since they have always had this rivalry going on between them, I sat up straighter when there was a knock at the door "come in" I called already knowing who it was "Hokage-sama you sent for us" Kakashi Hatake said I nodded motioning for them to come all come in, as they all walked through the door I couldn't help but think why non of them have ever figured it out {am I at fault for agreeing with this plan in the first place, if he had stayed would he have been happy or miserable} I thought thinking about the blonde-haired genin {why have non of you ever tried to figure him out, did I underestimate the hatred the villagers had for him} I thought sadly, as I realised that nothing will ever be the same now

"What I'm about to tell you...only I know about this, it's also why it's been an SSS-rank secret, I often hoped someone would figure it out but apparently I was wrong..." I trailed off when the door opened again but slowly and Naruto came walking in, I saw the others look shocked at his quietness "sorry I'm late jiji" he whispered slowly, it was then that I realised that he probably knew what was about to happen since Naruto never once explained the whole jujus to me "I wish this was different..." he cut me off shaking his head "we've known for years jiji that it wouldn't last forever, he needs to return and I need to go back" he replied softly, but you could see the sadness in his eyes {for only being a shadow clone he's very convincing, but then again he was meant to be} I thought remembering why it was this way

"What the hell is going on" Kiba shouted, I looked around the room only to see confusion and in some cases worried glances "I'm a shadow clone" Naruto announced proudly smiling, I chuckled sadly only he would think to say it like that but considering what he's really like....{yeah this way is so much better} I thought shakenly, shivering how the other Naruto would of told them, I sighed mentally as I watched everyone's expressions I hope they realise that they might never see this again, that the smiling boy in front of them is nothing like how the original acts like, and thinking about that I too stared at the boy and tried to keep the picture in front of me a little longer

Kakashi POV

"I'm a shadow clone" Naruto said smiling, I waited for the joke to happen, for the Hokage to deny the claim but he just sat there smiling sadly "Naruto this isn't the time to mess about" I ordered sternly knowing something big was about to happen, he smile dimmed a bit before it came back "you see Hatake if you paid me a little bit of attention like you did the others, you would of figured it out by now, but since you're a fool I'm not surprised you don't know" he replied leaving me shocked that he actually answered calmly and he never called me sensei "he's speaking the truth" the Hokage said narrowing his eyes at me, I opened my mouth to speak but he carried on "the Naruto that is in front of you is a shadow clone, has been since he was 6 years old, so from your academy days until now, he's been a shadow clone" we were all shocked by the news "it begs the question Hokage-sama where is the real Naruto" Shikamaru asked frowning, though I saw him keeping an eye on Naruto....no I mean the shadow clone

"Oh I can tell you that, my original isn't even in the village hasn't been for years, he travels a lot" the clone Naruto answered still smiling, then laughed at everyone's faces "but how come we didn't know, I mean we're a team" Sasuke snarled, angrily clone Naruto giggled "that's easy teme" he paused to be dramatic and silly, just like this clone was suppose to be "you never asked anything about me, so why should I tell you this secret" he continued loudly, I saw Sasuke move to hit him but when he did he went right through him "what's happening to you dobe" Sasuke demanded and there was concern in his eyes for Naruto "my time here is finished, my original is coming back so there is no need for me to stay, oh yeah jiji you do know he will start some trouble if the villagers pick a fight with him" Naruto said smirking at the end, but we all stood there silently watching him fade into thin air and just before he faded completely, we all heard a quiet whisper "I hope you're all prepared because fox is coming home" and his laugh was the last thing you heard before utter silence
