It was Saturday night and I was outside Terry's house, knocking on the door. I heard the shouting of young children from within the small house. I felt the time pass as I waited for Terry to come to the door. Before I could knock again, the door opened to reveal a younger version of Terry. They had the same fluffy, brown hair, but the boy's eyes were a light green. He looked about 12 years old. He did not greet me and, instead, closed the door in my face.
I was returning to the car, when I heard Terry's loud voice yell from the doorway.
"Mos, wait! I'm here, come back! Cole didn't see you." I sighed and began my way back to the door where Terry greeted me in only a tank top and small shorts. He opened the door wider for me and I walked into the house.
I walked into a narrow hallway with the walls painted a light green and wooden floors. Children's toys were strewn everywhere and Terry had to carefully tiptoe around the mess as to not step onto a piece of brightly colored plastic.
He guided me through the small house, up to the second story, and into his room that he shared with his brother. It was small and his half of the area was covered in posters of shirtless men and celebrities. As I looked around, he quickly stuffed his bag with clothes and other necessities to spend the night at my house.
"Here's your fucking toothbrush, Peanut," I heard from the entrance of Terry's room. When I turned towards the voice, I met eyes with a handsome man and beside him, a doppelganger.
"I told you not to call me that when Mos was here!" Terry pouted and threw his bag on the bed, barely missing me. He marched over and grabbed the toothbrush from his brother's tanned hand. They chuckled before turning their attention to me.
"Hey, Mos. We're Elan and Matt," the second one said to me. I waved shyly before they smirked and left.
"They're so embarassing... Do you have any siblings, Mos?" Terry questioned as he tied the laces of his sneakers.
"No, I don't," I curtly replied, staring at a picture of Hugh Jackman on his wall.
"Well, be grateful!" Terry said in exasperation. After gathering his things, Terry announced that he was ready to leave. He continued to blabber on, telling me about his plethora of siblings. "Anyways, thank you so much for giving me a ride to your house. We only have one car, and my parents are at work..." Our one sided conversation proceeded as we made our way down the stairs and towards the front door. However, before we could leave, the younger brother from earlier stepped in between us and the door.
"Sorry I closed the door on you earlier... You're Mos, right? I'm Cole." I did not reply and Terry spoke up for me, as usual.
"I'm spending the night at Mos's house. We're rehearsing for the talent show. Mom and Dad already know, so don't bother to try tattling on me!" Terry chided his younger brother.
"Why are you even doing the talent show? You have no talent," Cole said mockingly.
"Mos is trying to get his crush to notice him!" Terry blurted with excitement, before I jabbed him in the side.
"Terry! Stop!" I shrieked in horror. I didn't want anyone to know about my crush on Mr. Yoi. They just wouldn't understand...
Cole laughed. "Did you suck his dick yet?" He asked with a smirk.
"Of course not!" I cried. Giggling, Terry opened the door for me and motioned for me to exit.
"Okay, we're leaving now! Bye, Cole!" Terry announced as he followed me out the door, closing it behind him. "I'm so sorry about my family, there's a lot of us and we're not used to having company," Terry explained. Once we got to the car, I got in the front seat of Katherine's van while Terry got into the back.
"Hi, Terry! It's nice to finally meet you," Katherine greeted Terry, and he kindly thanked her before she began the short drive home.

We had been at my home for an hour, and after Terry inspected every inch of my room, we were finally deciding what I should perform for the talent show. However, we could not agree on a song. Eventually, Katherine's husband and my foster dad, Bryin, walked into the room with a platter of snacks.
"Hey, boys... I thought you might want some snacks," he said, placing the tray on my dresser before quietly leaving Terry and me alone.
"You know, your parents are really, super cool! My parents aren't around a lot, it's so nice they spend so much time with you!" Terry said. I looked sharply at him, slightly annoyed. At least he had parents. Real parents.
"They're not my parents, Terry," I replied curtly.
"Oh... I'm sorry!" He hastily apologized. I could tell he was sincere, and he quickly changed the subject. "What songs did you have in mind?"
For once, I did not object. Instead, I pulled out my tiny notepad and confessed, "Well, there is this one I had in mind..."
